The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byHiking RiofromI Love My Water PigI have carried this fat little water pig from the floor of the Owens valley up over Forgotten Pass into the Inyo Mountains during the dry 90 degree heat of July. Surrounded by split red rocks and dry streambeds there's nothing as satisfying as patting the old water pig and knowing that you have fresh clean water at your fingertips.
I have used this bladder for several years in the Sierra and around Ventana as well. Sometimes I carry it in empty and then fill-up at a lake or stream.
It shows no sign of fouling or falling apart.
The water always tastes great.
It never leaks.
The weight is in the water, not the container(s).
I did buy the spigot and it should be standard issue.
All in all you get what you pay for and more here. I love this pig.
But be careful, there's something addictive about patting the pig.

Rated5out of5byTVLfromGreat ProductI use these on extended kayaking trips in the Everglades.
First, it packs into virtually any cranny on the kayak. That should be enough to recommend them right there. Three will fit into the day hatch, as they pop easily in and then mold themselves to the available space. I've put them behind the seat, in the cockpit next to the front bulkhead. And they're easy to secure because of the webbing, so no worries there.
Second, they're really durable. They take a bit of rough handling that would rip open a plastic container. When water is precious, it's like insuring your water supply. And I've had them now going into my fourth season, and they show no signs of wear and tear.
Third, they fold up to almost nothing, and are easily stowed when done. Space is always at a premium.
Lastly, they seem easy to clean. I've never noticed any taste or odor problems, and washing with soap and water then letting them air-dry after a trip has been all the maintenance they require. Much easier than 2.5 gal plastic carriers.
Expensive. I need 40 liters for a 9 day trip, so the cost adds up.
The standard spout it comes with is useless. I spilled lots of water, and found it hard to fill water bottles or pour into pots. But you can get a spigot for it, and the replacement spigot is great. Never any spillage or leaks and easy to use. But getting new spigots just adds to the cost and you've got the useless old spout. Better if you could just buy it with the replacement spigot.
Because they're black, they do absorb lots of heat. Not necessarily bad, but a problem in the Florida sun.
I think the MSR Dromedary bags are about the best possible water carrying system for kayak camping. I've never noticed any taste or odor problems, and they've lasted for years. I love these things.

Rated4out of5bymnapieralskifromWorks great but doesnt fit ...It works great. I bought the optional spout which works great. My only problem is that my Katadyn pump attachment doesnt fit into the bag. Its sooo close, but the opening on the MSR bag is just a touch too small. I end up pumping into my water bottle then pouring into the MSR bag.

Rated5out of5byDuvall kayak camperfromGreat for kayak campingI kayak into the back country to camp and hauling water has always been a hassle. This lays tight against the deck and does not make the kayak top heavy! It works like this is what it was made to do.

Rated5out of5byoldcoot99fromGood bagI purchased two of the 10 liter Dromedary bags for a 7 day kayak trip in the Missouri Breaks that required you to carry your own water. The bags carried well in a kayak, and were collapseable to save space when empty.

Rated4out of5bymike of the shire bothellfromdoes the job wellAfter making repeated trips from the water source to our campsite, I wanted a dromedary bag that would attach securely to my MSR waterworks filter and held enough water for meals, cleaning and drinking at the campsite. This fits the bill perfectly. I hang a sling from a branch and caribiner it to the cord thet runs through the cover. The cord bunches up a bit, but it works great (I added the spigot cap to make the on/off) work easier.

Rated1out of5bySonskynfromIn bad tasteWe purchased 3 of these bags for a 6 day trip down the Yampa River and would have given a raving review for this product if not for the awful taste it gave to the water.
