The toe off section (mid section) of the outsole does not have tough rubber. It is exposed mid sole. I only put 106 miles on my pair and already that section is completely flat. And yes I getting a bad knee pain. I would not recommend this shoe.
I recently purchased my 3rd pair of this shoe! I totally love this shoe, because of the width and the cushion it provides. I’m a bigger runner & I do a lot of street running. These shoes have good cushion and absorbs the road nicely. It is comfortable on my foot and the sole is resilient and does not give out like some other name brands, after some long runs! The colors are nice too! Nice job Saucony, I’ll be ready for a new pair, come pay day!! R-
I have been using Saucony Guide shoes on and off for over 15 years. I recently purchased the Guide 18 online and was very pleased with the fit. However, I had to return it because of a defect — the glue between the mesh and the sole was very noticeable and did not fully hold the mesh together. The replacement pair also had visible glue on the outside, which makes me wonder durability and lack of quality control.
First time buyer wearing Guide 18 and am very content. Had to return first pair and reorder in Wide made the difference. The cushioning helps my hip pain very well. Am currently wearing them daily in Guadalajara Jalisco MX while relocating. Great fit and arch support.
Saucony Guide 18. Have worn Saucony shoes for years and overall love them. HOWEVER. This last purchase of the Guide 18 Extra Wide was a disappointment. The top eyelet blew out in less than 6 months, making the shoes unusable (with security).
The Saucony Guide continues to be my GO TO trail shoe and I’m excited to have another pair in my quiver. They are light, responsive, AND accommodate my custom insoles.
Only 85 miles, outsole worn out and flat. Foot now hurts if use. First pair of saucony very disappointing. Never had happen before. Do not recommend.
The shoes I bought were supposed to be new and not reconditioned, but they came with a large stain at the top the cloth that I’m not able to get out. Obviously someone had wore them previously and they just repacked a return.
These shoes look and feel excellent. However, the material on the bottom wears out quicker than other models from Saucony. More durable material is needed, especially for the balls of the foot.
At 265lbs, 6’6 and the flattest of feet, these give me the stability I need to log any type of run. Every year they seem to get just slightly more comfortable with the newest edition!
