The photos are inaccurate -- every pair I saw in-store had a drawstring on the outside that can be pulled through to the inside, but the holes for the string are still very visible in the front. The photos on REI's site and DUER's site do not show the drawstring or the holes. Additionally, the fit is absolutely wild. I'm typically a size 4/Small and have a 26" waist, 38" hips and 30" inseam. The XS fit well at first, but because the fabric is so thick, the elastic waistband digs into the skin uncomfortably over time and leaves red marks/welts everywhere. So I sized up to an S which is quite literally hanging off my hips, dragging on the ground (it actually has a 28" inseam instead of 29", I measured, but because I cannot secure them enough at my waist they slide down), but somehow still manages to leave those same red marks even though the waistband is barely hanging on to me. An elastic waistband with such heavy fabric was a curious choice! I'm also unsure that DUER is aware of what a barrel shape is. Both pairs I tried were just a straight wide-leg with absolutely no barrel shape to them. The only thing that hints at the rounded, tapered barrel shape is that the side seams twist around to the front at the bottom so it looks like your pants have bad sewing. Two stars because the fabric itself is very soft and stretchy. Even when the waistbands left marks on my skin, I didn't feel any actual squeezing or constriction, it was just due to the thick heavy fabric being wrinkled up against my skin because of the elastic. Had literally anything else about the pants been better I may have kept them for the fabric alone because I could see it working very well for travel.
Comfy well-made pants
Fairly rugged well-made pull-on pants with a high rise. They remind me of "original " Gramicci pull-ons, so I'm thrilled I found them. They're 29 ( ish ) inches in length, with a slight barrel shape and a deeper hem. The waist band stretches to 38 inches, pockets are moderately deep, and they are manufactured in Pakistan. For ref: 5'8" 175 lbs purchased XL ( L ) in green and bought on REI online. Unfortunately, I was expecting an elastic waistband without a drawstring and a much lighter fabric for summer months. I guess I missed the word " twill." Nonetheless, they fit better than most of the pants I find online so they are a keeper.

Grateful for these. They are well made and comfortable. I think they may be a touch big on me, but they are so comfortable and neutral.
