It's a lid
Goes on like a lid... Comes off like a lid. Works as a lid should. Would definitely recommend, especially when compared to no lid.
Wow - just like the one it replaced
I was skeptical that the lid i melted in the dishwasher could ever be replaced, it worked so well the bottle of the same exact brand. Well what do you know, this lid made by the same exact brand, works just as well. If your looking for the exact replacement lid for a Nalgene wide-mouth bottle - this is it man.
Keeps the water in
I don't know what I'd do without it. The water would all come out. This is pretty neat. It's most handy when you've melted the original lid in the dishwasher.
Black hides mildew
My local store only stocks black caps. That’s a bummer. With the blue caps, you at least have an opportunity to spot something hat should be cleaned. I think most serious users would agree. REI, where are the blue caps? Did I buy it, yes. Why did I buy it? Because I had no alternative at the time.
Beats buying a new bottle!!!
Well, It worked. Broke the strap on the lid of my Nalgene bottle from Appalachian Service Project after only ten years of use. Was gonna scrap it but found the replacement lid on the REI website. Ordered and picked it up at the store. Easy-piezy. Hope it will last another ten years. ( I may not though, I am old!)

Can't say enough good things about this replacement lid. It's truly remarkable how it prevents liquids from escaping the wide mouth Nalgene bottle. Bravo!
Hydration busket
This is my 3rd Nalgene brand lid that has broke in the last 6months. This onelasted 28 days... previous lids lasted years without any issues, no difference in treat.
Cheap, works for camelbak bladders too
Fairly cheap and universal replacement caps for not just Nalgene, but Camelbak bladders (including military issue ones). My Nalgene cap has gotten scratches and dirt from daily use for 7+ years and is due for replacement despite daily scrubs with detergent. This is a cheap way to make my bottle look newer again.
Old lid broke, perfect replacement
Old lid strap broke, so I had to get a new one. Cheaper than amazon. Bummer they only had black and blue. Wish they had more colors
Fits 32oz Nalgene Perfectly
Bought this when I accidentally melted my old lid by placing it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Given my 32oz Nalgene doesn't fit on the top rack of my dishwasher, I will be hand-washing from now on! I'm happy they sell these so I did not have to buy an entirely new Nalgene bottle.
