by fromNice shoes, but quality of the sole is so-so I bought the shoes in April, I ran in them approx 8 times (both some sprinting and some 5 mile runs) and they are comfortable. The shoes were great out of the box, I have worn them with and without socks, and they provide cushioning but do not heal drop. You can still have a tactile feel for the ground. The bad: The sole on both shoes started to separate at the same spot (outside of foot near the pinky toe). I returned them and REI gave me a new pair. I hope these hold up longer than a few runs. Cheers

by fromwide feet Feet are size 13.5 US, wide, and these fit well out of the box. I wear for urban bike commute to work, and at the office. Light, breathable, can be slipped on because construction is slightly elastic. Color design isn't as elegant as Bare Access 2 was (hence missing 5th star), but still not overly garish.

by fromSpacious, no rubbing, and no padding Bought these to replace the Brooks PureCadence3 shoes I had previously (and returned) that rubbed me the wrong way (literally) with all sorts of hot spots and discomfort. I affiliate Merrell with hiking shoes, so I was concerned they would feel clunky, but the shoes are light and well-ventilated. Unlike the Brooks, these Merrells have no noticeable seams to feel inside the shoe. In fact, they are quite spacious in the toe box--even though I got a half size smaller than normal. I do have some movement in the heel, but no rubbing or blisters. These are pretty minimal shoes, and have no notable padding in the back. You will be punished for heelstrikes--especially on pavement. The traction is decent, and I've taken these on some moderate trails (not a lot of rocks or sharp gravel) with good success.

by fromNice Shoe. Little more support than some others I bought this shoe about three weeks ago and have worn it quite a bit for walking, backpacking, and playing tennis in. I've been wearing vibram 5fingers, Merril Barefoots, and Lems minimalist boots for several years now and needed something a little more substantial for certain situations. These have been great so far.

by fromGreat ride for someone new to barefooting. I put my skepticism aside and have taken a chance on barefoot running, I am hooked. These shoes have made it so much fun I bought two. Used on pavement, asphalt and minimally rocky dirt trails. Nearly the same foot strike reaction I get when running with no shoes! Farthest run so far with absolutely no problems, 10 miles. I also have wide feet and these provide just the right amount of space.

by fromToo narrow, not true barefoot experience I had the Bare Access first generation. Comparing this to the 1st gen, I find the arch support too pronounced, it does not offer a true barefoot experience. I ended up returning them. A bit disappointed.

by fromLove them! Just purchased these shoes, wore them out of the store and drove straight to the nearest park for a run and loved them. Very light, good traction, breathable and of course they were very comfortable. I traded in my Vibram five fingers for these and I am truely happy. Great product! By the way, these shoes do run big in size. I had to get a full size smaller which doesn't bother me unless you are the type to brag about shoe size.
