by HappyHikerFromCAfromGood size with built in hydrationI've used this since I bought it in May on all my hikes, from a half mile to over 8 miles. During the summer, even when it gets hot, my back stays relatively well ventilated and the pack stays put where I've adjusted it. Refilling the hydration pack is super easy, thanks to a separate access compartment. I can shove my huge first aid kit, the full water bladder, my lunch, an extra shirt and pair of socks, and a jacket in here comfortably, with room leftover for wallet, keys, sunscreen in the outer/upper pocket. There are also enough small bungees and cords on the outside for me to attach my trekking poles without stabbing myself or anyone else while I'm moving around. Plus the two hip pockets on the hip strap, which is good for ID/money/chapstick/small camera.
My only complaint is that I wish the main compartment had a larger opening up top, but it just takes an extra second to stuff things down to the bottom, so I really don't mind.
I've used this bag on both coasts and I'm very happy with it.

by ChrisMfromGreat fit, light, and comfortableGreat for long day hikes. It is comfortable, lightweight, and has good air flow on my back so it does not get to hot.
