Comments about The North Face Apex ClimateBlock Jacket - Women's - 2012 Closeout:
I love this jacket. It is very light and a very flattering fit. It does run a little small - I bought medium and it fits perfect vs. I usually am a small for tops. A bought it for tennis and running but it is really sharp so I will wear it running around on errands.

Comments about The North Face Apex ClimateBlock Jacket - Women's - 2012 Closeout:
I bought this jacket because it looked flattering and wanted something that would show when walking at night. The jacket is super nice. Great style! I get compliments all the time. I liked it so much that I bought one for my daughter in law. I might even buy another one for myself! ( I would have 2). The sleeves seem a little long but I like them. LOVE LOVE LOVE this jacket!!

Comments about The North Face Apex ClimateBlock Jacket - Women's - 2012 Closeout:
I'm 5'2" and around 110 lbs, not curvy. I got this in black back in January from REI and I've loved it. Going to buy another one because I've already washed this one so many times I'm afraid it might wear it out too fast. I also can't imagine a run without it as an insurance policy when weather is still inconsistent.
The silver seams are reflective which help for night, but I wouldn't recommend depending on it alone for visibility. I hike/run for hours around Mt. Tam where the weather can vary from base to peak and along the ocean. It protects well against the colder chill of higher elevations, where the wind picks up and the grass not directly in the sun still show frost at 1-2PM. The collar is a bit stiff, and when half-zipped it tends to poke the bottom of my chin and cause zits over time. Also with it half-zipped, it tends to naturally stay "shut" by itself so I have to fold the edges into the front shoulder straps of my hydration pack, just to allow more wind/air in.
It's form-fitting and not breathable where I can layer fleece underneath on extra chilly winter mornings. Wearing fleece or any loosely form-fitting layer under it makes it all puffy and difficult to swing my arms (and my arms are scrawny). I've since figured to wear a tank with mesh back and arm-sleeves to help increase back and pit breathability, while still getting the multi-layer warmth I need for earlier mornings or all-day outings. With this trick the jacket has become my essential go-to outerwear jacket. It also works well when dusk hits and the temperature drops fast, even when already wet from being wrapped around my waist all day.
Thumbholes are a plus but the sleeves are tapered so I can't roll them up past elbow when it gets hot. There is a large center backpocket that just manages to fit my smartphone, the only one that still has a flip keyboard. But the pocket's located lower towards my butt than the small of my back so then it bounces around everywhere when I run and causes the front of the jacket to tighten against my chest, again a bit annoying when it happens with the jacket zipped all the way up. It's protected me well against vicious rolling fog and light rain, early morning to a bit past nightfall, but I haven't tried it in a downpour.
It also doesn't hurt that with black running tights some people mistake me for a cool-looking motorcyclist. Who happens to have a hydration pack and trail shoes on.
Overall it's a very useful jacket able to handle a broad range of wind and weather conditions as long as you can figure out how to layer it appropriately.

LOVE this jacket! It keeps you warm and dry. Also love the reflective stripes in case you are exercising in poor light. Not only does it function like a champ, it is very flattering. It is form fitting and shows off your silhouette as an added bonus! It does fit snugly so if you are between sizes, I would recommend going larger. Highly recommend this jacket.
