- Heavyweight jersey knit face with terry loop interior insulates, breathes well and naturally fights odors; plus, it has a hint of stretch
- Wool allows moisture to release and move away from the body at a lower core temperature than synthetics, enabling greater core comfort no matter what the temperature is

I loved this sweater initially, but it pills right away. When I say right away, I mean that within 3 hours of wearing it, I had significant pills on the sweater. For the cost (even on clearance) I did not expect it to pill within hours, even before it's been washed. I am terribly disappointed, since I love my other Smartwool items. I will be returning this to REI, which is a shame, but I can't afford to spend this kind of money on something that begins to disintegrate right away.
