    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromGreat for my commute. The fit is nice, no binding, slightly loose, and they look good off the bike. I have ridden home in temps below freezing with these pants and have been comfortable, it is about a 30 minute commute. I especially like that I don't overheat when wearing these pants, as in the past, I wore rain pants on the cold days, and they didn't breathe well at all.

by fromGreat All-Around Portland Pants I ride into SW Portland 8.5mi as often as possible. These pants have water resistant panels on the front and breathable panels on the rear. At 26deg, they shed enough wind in the front to keep marginally warm while pedaling@18mph. I wore them in a late fall deluge and these pants offer enough water resistance (they might be water proof, but sweat makes the judgment tough), breathability and warmth to make the ride in a 40deg downpour actually comfortable. The rear panels did get a bit wet from spray off the tires splashing through the puddles, but I'd rather have that than sweat and body heat buildup.. In colder weather I'll wear my Novara waterproof rain pants, but it has to be cold to offset the lack of rear zippers.

by fromGreat winter pants! Got these to use both for biking and running, and they work great for both (though I'm just a casual runner so take that recommendation with a grain of salt). They are very comfortable for biking at 40F with just shorts underneath. And, they were still comfortable for x-country skiing at -5F in the morning with non-thermal tights underneath and rain pants over. They definitely motivate you to keep moving, since the wind block is in the front, if you stop, things get cold fast with any wind. Haven't used them in wet weather yet, but so far they have been great in windy and snowy weather. The little drawstring holder is all but pointless. Have to tie the drawstring to hold the holder in place - I've already removed it entirely. At 6'3" with a 34" inseam, the Large has enough length in the leg to reach my running shoes and stays down during cycling. Very happy with the length and overall fit.

by fromLoose but slim I was looking for something for colder weather mountain biking. Didn't want restrictive tights, nor something baggy to flap in the wind and pick up chain marks. These fit the bill, block the wind and look okay for post ride casual wear without feeling like clammy tights. (They do have a huge drawstring for size large, probably shortened it by a foot but no problem)

by fromThese are what I have been looking for! I love how these bike pants feel and look. I have ridden in temperatures around freezing and these pants have kept me very warm. I love the looser fit of these pants; I can wear them in and out of stores or restaurants if I am biking around town and not feel conspicuous. The pants have nice reflective stripes down the side of each leg. Zippers near each ankle make it easy to put these pants on or take off. When zippered the tapered fit at the ankles keep your pants out of the chain rings and other hardware. The pants feel thick and durable.

by fromAWESOME! I tend to run hotter than most, and I was looking for pants that I could wear mountain biking and commuting that wouldn't make me sweat in 20 degree weather but would keep me warm. I wore these for the first time the other day, with nothing but a chamois underneath, and in 20 degree weather with about 12-15 mph wind, I was fine! They did their job exactly as advertised.

by fromNovara Headwind Bike Pants The Novara Headwind Bike Pants seem to me to be almost perfect for riding in north Florida during cold winter months.

by fromGreat pants The pants were perfect in weather between 32-40 degrees, windy and calm. It can be tricky trying to stay comfortable riding but I had no issues at all. They still work great after several washes. I have since purchased 2 more pair at my local store.
