The hydration system of this pack is a failure...Especially at this price point.
The bite valve will not dry out on it's own. It must be dissembled after every use or mold will form. It is not a quick process to disassemble. I have used other brands where this is not the case. I take excellent care of my packs post use and never have any issue until this pack.

2. The mechanism that clips the bite valve to the chest harness is an iron magnet. What happens when water meets iron? Rust(oxidation)!
The clip became rusted and gnarly and is not removable now as the rust has gummed up the clip.

It is clear that this pack was not put thru any quality assurance.

As a pack without hydration it is excellent. But!!! It is sold as s hydration pack.

Osprey Customer service was poor. They asked if I lived near the coast as that would cause it to rust. As if water from the bite valve sitting on a magnet would not have anything to do with it. They offered to send me a replacement bite valve and transferred me to customer service where I left a voice mail and I have not heard back.
