    • Functioning like down feathers, the tiny round clusters of ThermoBall spun polyester trap warm air, while softly conforming to your body's shape
    • ThermoBall retains 80% of its insulating power even when dampened by rain, humidity or sweat, so you'll continue to stay warm
    • Small baffles in shell fabric allow insulation to fully expand to retain body heat; highly compressible ThermoBall insulation offers warmth equal to 600-fill-power goose down
    • Tightly-woven nylon shell features square stitching that helps hold insulation in place to keep it evenly distributed; Durable Water Repellent finish repels light moisture
    • Nylon lining wicks sweat off the skin for quick evaporation, helping you stay dry and comfortable
    • Quickly stuff the jacket into its own space-saving, left-hand stow pocket for compact storage
    • Zippered hand pockets; full-length front zipper with internal windflap; stretch-bound cuffs, low-profile drawcord hem
    • The North Face ThermoBall jacket has a standard fit and is machine washable
    • ThermoBall jackets were thoroughly tested by The North Face athletes, including Conrad Anker and Jimmy Chin, during summit trips on Denali and Mount Meru

The North Face ThermoBall Full-Zip Insulated Jacket - Men's is rated 4.3913 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPER warm underlayer At first, I was a little sticker shocked in fall time, but now that winter has arrived, I bought the long sleeve non-hoodie, and was SO impressed with how nice and evenly warm it is that I went and bought the vest, and the long sleeve hoodie, which of course is the warmest of the three. For B/C snowboarding and skiing, you might bring the vest, the long sleeve, AND the the long sleeve hoodie as layers. With a one-piece base layer, and either a one piece jumper, or attachable top and bottom, there is practically no such thing as cold in the backcountry, or on a motorcycle in the winter. Once again, on a bike doing 80, you need as much as you can get when it's cold, and not to have to haul around big heavy jackets when it's warm in the day. I have noticed that what is good for motorcycles, especially dirt bikes, is also good for snowboarding usually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest lightweight jacked I've ever own Amazing jacket for hiking in cool weather. I hike along Hadrian's wall the last week of October in this jacket and I was perfectly warm (though I did have to throw a rain coat over it at times). The only con is that it seems to be easily torn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit, color and and warmth The fit and fashion are great and the color (Conqueror Blue) is really unique. The black style is a little too shiny for me. The coat is light and is very comfortable as an outer layer. The DWR works well in light rain. My only gripe is that there is no internal chest pocket for things like sunglasses or a phone. I tried this and the Patagonia down sweater, and the fit on this TNF jacket was much better and less bulky. I could see myself wearing this mountaineering, hiking or skiing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this jacket I bought this jacket for travel and recreational use. It packs very small and fits easily into my backpack when going through airports. When packed it also doubles as a nice pillow on airplanes. In cooler to cold weather with little wind it is great as a top layer. In cold windy weather I use it as a mid layer under a more wind/waterproof shell and it provides very adequate warmth. Only mark against it is I wish the sleeves were about 1 to 1.5 inches longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Darn Good Jacket This is a good jacket so far. I first bought in preparation for a trip to iceland. Withstood 22F with high winds and heavy snow and was comfortable throughout. Bear in mind, this jacket is only water-RESISTANT, so it can handle some wet weather, but will eventually be overwhelmed by extended exposure. In spite of that while you will get moist, you will remain warm. I paired it with a vest underneath: http://www.rei.com/product/835525/the-north-face-windwall-1-fleece-vest-mens Tested it out again today during New York's "Arctic Vortex" Temp at 7F with windchill of -12F. Again layered with the vest, and remained warm and unaffected by the wind. As a New Yorker who walks around with a lot of "stuff" this jacket definitely needs more pockets, internal or otherwise for carrying phones and the like. Extremely light weight and easy to fold and pack away. Anyone else think winter jackets should have some sort of temperature rating?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Probably worth the price Extremely comfortable, so light it's almost like wearing nothing at all. Collapses into its own pocket for putting in a bag or using as a camp pillow. It can be a little difficult to get into the pocket, but I've only done it a couple of times, so maybe I haven't figured out the best method. So far i've only used this jacket for wearing around town, so I can't say anything about its durability. I'm waiting for the weather to get cold so I can test its warmth and layering capability. Similarly priced to other equivalent products. Salesperson told me it probably wasn't as warm as down, but it is definitely lighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packable and Warm I got this to use as a base layer now that its getting colder out. I needed something that would keep me warm in the morning on my ride to work, but that wouldn't take up too much room when packed away after work. I haven't used it while in wet conditions yet, but on dry mornings when used with a windproof shell it works very well. I can't believe how warm it is for how light and packable it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket I use this walking the dogs in Denver. Even on a very windy afternoon, the jacket seems windproof. Very light weight and warm. Just one problem, there are not enough pockets. NF should have added one or two on the inside for phones and such.
