Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good idea - BAD packaging It is very difficult to get the product out of the package. You have to squeeze the square package to get the product to the small opening at one end. It is fairly thick stuff so it takes awhile. Forget about it on a cold day. Sitting at home with some patience, persistance and using the edge of the table, you can get about 80% of the almond butter out. If you are on the trail or bike it would be impossible unless you wanted to stop for 5 minutes and work at it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Stuff I ordered a dozen packets a few months ago. I used a few (you need to drink a gallon of water with each one since they are VERY sticky and thick and hard to swallow). I went to eat another one today and they all had turned to ROCK! Can't be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome WHOLE food option I have been using PocketFuel for two years now and love it. Prior to finding this whole food product I used the typical fuel for long runs, rides, or racing. I couldn't figure out why my GI system was always in distress...fake food will do that to you! With PocketFuel I know I am taking in good calories in a whole food form. And I can digest it while working at intensity. Another reviewer mentioned it is hard to get out of the package...just give it a little love. Squish and squeeze a few times while continuing your activity and once squeezes right out. I have used this in all weathers and altitudes! Including a freezing rain storm at 10,000 feet on Aconcagua. In cold weather, just keep in next to your body and it will be ready any time you need! For a really easy solution, put it in your water bottle or flask. You will get your hydration and your nutrition in a great tasting 'shake'. Two final things: LOVE all the flavor options. Truly have something for everyone! AND the packets are re-fillable meaning my foot print is less! I just save them all and fill with whatever my flavor of the month is!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tastes good, but hard to squeeze. I love eating Nutella and toast for my pre-run/race meal so this caught my eye. I keep trying this on my long runs (3hrs+), but I only end up eating a tiny bit. A majority contents of the tube become very hard. When you go to take a hit of the flask you get the most watery part first. The second time you end up with this thick paste. The thick paste is really dry and you need to take in a lot of water to make it go down easier. I find it hard to eat 3.5hrs into a run. It tastes good, however, it can be a little to intense with the flavors. I don't know if it is because of the separation of the liquid from the paste, but it's just too much for me the further into the run I am. I have tried massaging the flask before my run and keeping it close to my body to keep it warm, but it still can stays hard. I just find it too expensive for something I cannot completely eat. However, it might be good for long hikes. **UPDATE** The hardness of the packet may be dependent on the flavor you choose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good 'real food' alternative I bought these on a whim when I was picking up more honey stinger gels, since I'm still experimenting with fuel options for my upcoming half marathon. The flavor definitely determines how easy it is to squeeze it out of the packet - I tried the chocolate espresso and the chia goji honey. Flavors were both really awesome, but it is annoying that you'll never quite get all the product out of the package. I hear they are updating their package design so that might not be an issue in the future. The choc-espresso was VERY dense and hard to get out of the package, and not something I would bring with me on the run. I've been using this flavor as pre-run fuel, and I was very pleasantly surprised that I had no GI issues at all - gummies tend to have that effect on my system. The chia goji honey is much closer to a liquid consistency and easier to eat on the go, even in cooler (upper 30s) weather. I brought it on an 11-miler this weekend and while it satisfied my craving for 'real' food, it felt a little heavy mid run and like other reviewers have mentioned, I had to take in a little more water than I would have liked. I won't be using it during a race, but I could see myself bringing it on longer, casual runs or day hikes. It's definitely great for pre/post workout. It is spendy, but apparently you can clean out the pockets and refill them from the larger packages which might save a little money in the long run.
