I wanted a water bottle which would keep things hot or cold, be easy to clean, feel comfortable to drink out of. I'm surprised by the quality and usefulness of the stanley. the base is not too wide. the top, not too narrow.

I tried all of them, including the kleen kanteen (not shown on web site) which is easy to carry but not as comfortable or versatile for drinking.
the design of this bottle is extraordinary. I use it around the house, too.

I also like an REI vacuum bottle not show on site. use it for hot liquids.

Comments about Stanley Classic Vacuum Mug - 12 fl. oz.:

I like this mug because it keeps liquids hot a lot longer than plastic mugs. Easily lasts 3 hours with occasional drinks. Additionally, in order to drink from it you have to press the button which means that if it gets knocked over it won't spill or you can throw it in your pack without having to worry about it leaking. It also fits all cupholders as opposed to many cups which have handles that prevent them from fitting. Only the top lid is dishwasher safe but that is not necessarily a con in my opinion.
