I'm always hesitant about buying a new brand of hiking boots. The deal was too good to pass up so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. I usually wear Vasque, but these are the best hiking boots I've ever purchased. They make me never want to wear a pair of Vasques again. I had read that they ran small in size and also were narrow. I'm 5'9, and usually order 1/2 size up in shoes and never considered my foot narrow, so I was hesitant. I ordered 1/2 size up as I usually do getting a size 10. When I tried the boot on, they were a little harder to slip into than I was used to. After lacing them up and walking around I was really impressed. They were super comfortable. They hug my foot like a perfectly fit glove. Then I put them to the test. I took them on back to back 4-8 mile rain and deep snow hikes on tough terrain with slippery conditions. They held traction and did great. I sprayed them with some ultradry to keep them from getting really soaked from the conditions, but they still soaked through in the toe area a good bit. In fairness, it was melting snow and very wet conditions.
All said, these boots surprised me. VERY comfortable, the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. Lightweight. Great traction. Nice looking too. I think my next boot purchase will be another pair of Tevas. I hope this helps you make your decision.

I normally wear a size 7 and half for running shoes and hiking shoes, but I had to go a full size bigger on this Teva shoes. Took few walks at the local park to break it in to a point that I felt comfortable to wear it during my recent Death Valley trip. I thought it will work great because of how lightweight and breathability of the shoes is, but never thought of durability. After my first short hike in DV(2-3miles), the shoes were all scratched up at the fornt tip/toe box. I never had the problem with any of my other hiking/trail shoes, but the fact that this Teva trail shoes got no toe protection makes it wears quickly. Thankful for REI's return policy, I returned it as soon as i came back from the trip.

I bought these for hiking in wooded areas; they are wonderful in the cold/wet elements, but not the most comfortable. They have great ankle support but I prefer a bit more snug and cushy insole. They feel pretty flat on the insole.
