Bought it brand new and wore it around town in Japan. Not bad.
Brought it to New Zealand a month later and just about died.
It was not waterproof in a light but steady rain. Soaked through some areas in about 10 minutes. It did not bead off the surface at all. There was also heavy condensation on the inside which made me more wet than the actual rain soak! To be sure, I wore the coat in rain while not accumulating sweat or much body heat. Definitely the rain soaking through.
The brim is pretty skimpy.
I also wore it in moderately windy conditions (about 20-35mph) with no rain and felt the gusts getting through.
I wore it in misty weather and was fine, so if that's where you live then go ahead and buy it. It's pretty comfortable and lightweight.
I returned it.

It is just a great all-around coat. Perfect fit that is very flattering. I think they over-estimate on the size though. By the measurements, I should have ordered a large but I ordered a Medium. It fits perfectly.
