I bought these for traveling, and they are super comfortable. They are much nicer looking than all of the other travel pants I own. I wouldn't call these jeans. They aren't jean colored or in jean material. However, they are of a similar cut to jeans. I chose them for their moisture wicking capability, and I believe it'll do this nicely on nature walks. Them seem lightweight, but I would be comfortable going into nice places with these on too.

These pants are really, really comfortable, and stylish enough that I can wear them just about anywhere. My only complaint is the fit -- they are both too big around the waist and just a tiny bit too short for me (though I have long legs). I tried one size down, but they were too tight. But the pants are so comfortable that I've kept them anyway.
