    Ideal for sport climbing, the Petzl Sama climbing harness is designed to allow complete freedom of movement while keeping you comfortable and secure.

    • Harness is constructed with specific stitching on the waistbelt to limit hard points and chafing; waistbelt is wider on the sides to help distribute pressure
    • Waistbelt features a DoubleBack buckle that's easy to adjust; DoubleBack buckle allows adjustments while maintaining the correct double-back configuration
    • Elastic leg loops stretch for the perfect fit without restricting movement
    • Tie-in points are constructed using Dyneema for excellent resistance to rope friction
    • Includes 2 rigid gear loops toward the front and 2 flexible gear loops in back for racking gear; flexible gear loops won't interfere with your backpack
    • 2 slots on the waistbelt accommodate the Petzl Caritool ice screw holder (sold separately)
    • The Petzl Sama climbing harness includes a rear haul loop

      I Absolutely LOVE this harness. I have forever supported ultra-light, featherweight constructed harness such as the petzl hirundos (my old harness) and so when I was switching to something a little bigger I was a tad skeptical... I seriously DON'T feel ANY added weight with the new Red Sama, just a lot of comfort and versatility. With the added loops and haul tabs, this harness doesn't limit your activities to purely sport either. I have taken many long-day (Trad Climb) excursions with the Sama and it fails NOT to amaze and work! If you are considering it, try it on... I won't argue with everyone's personal preference on fit, but if you like fixed leg loops, look no further.

        Comments about Petzl Sama Climbing Harness:

        I own the older orange version of this harness. I have a size medium, i am a slender 6'2 185. the legs are snug and not to tight and are not loose in the least bit. good for hanging and working on a route but not that comfortable when belaying, i know that sounds crazy but it just feels like a different pull.

        there is a ton of xtra webbing on the waist when you tighten it up. so dont worry about unthreading the webbing from the waist buckle when loosening it up, but petzl does do a good job by putting extra elastic in the waist to keep the webbing out of the way.

        all in all its a good harness for sport climbing with minimal weight, if your looking for something with less weight check out the hirundos harness by petal
