The North Face Meru PacLite men's jacket is highly compressible for easy packing, and designed with Gore-Tex® PacLite® for lightweight protection from the elements.

  • Minimally featured Meru makes an excellent emergency shell
  • 2.5-layer Gore-Tex PacLite is engineered to be light, packable and more breathable than other 2- or 3-layer Gore-Tex fabrics
  • A waterproof membrane is laminated to the shell fabric and then covered by a thin, durable protective oil-resistant coating
  • Lack of need for a separate lining allows fabric to be light and compact; combines durable wind- and waterproofness with exceptional breathability

    Great product for wet, icy, or snowy conditions.

    I just used this product in the mountains around Valdez, AK. The snow was around 2-5 feet deep. We climbed for around 3-4 hours and when all was said and done I was bone dry, at least in the areas this product covered (i has cheep pants thats soaked though).

    The coat is only a shell, it does not have any insulation. I prefer that because I can always layer underneath. It also worked great with my harness and did not interfere or bunch up.

    For Gore-Tex this product is also fairly inexpensive. So thats a thumbs up!

      Purchased this in NYC for wind/rain protection. I plan on using it for cycling to class and work as needed. It's a great product, water and windproof. I'm a tall skinny guy with a long torso and the medium fits me really well (I'm 6'2"). It is made to be lightweight and is therefore much thinner. Sometimes I worry it could rip but it never does so I would say it is quite durable. It has basic customizability in the head and waist. Not meant for a helmet to be worn inside the hood. The color is nice (nighthawk; black/gray). While most would buy more extreme waterproof/ breathables for "extreme" conditions, i would be perfectly happy using this in almost any circumstance. It is a good buy. Will update this review as needed. I give it five stars for doing what it is made to do and doing it well.
