The North Face Meru PacLite Jacket - Men'sis rated4.0out of5by4.
Rated2out of5bystevegongfromSome corners cut in the designI was excited when I saw this jacket on sale as I've been looking for a Gore-Tex jacket after my North Face Hyvent shell gave out after just one year of medium-heavy use.
I really wanted to like this item but ended up returning it because from what I can surmise, cost cutting measures were implemented to make this jacket extra affordable:
- The sleeves at the wrist do not have an elastic band like most other shells. This makes it impossible to slip on and off without having to undo the velcro.
-No pockets. Other North Face shells generally have pockets AND two vents under the armpits on each side. This jacket tries to combine the two. As a result you have these large vent/pockets on the front that doesn't work very well for either purpose.
-No flap over front middle zipper (main zipper) for wind protection.

Rated4out of5byHackeyfeetfromNFC jacket reviewThis is a great jacket for the price. I got it on sale so I couldn't pass it up. Very warm and light as well as being durable. Wore it on my Mt Rainier summit and, with a good base layer, never needed my puffy even with 70+ mph winds at the summit. I would recommend this to a friend. The only two cons are no hood and its not waterproof.

Rated5out of5byAction Adventure TeamfromGore-Tex for SureGreat product for wet, icy, or snowy conditions.
I just used this product in the mountains around Valdez, AK. The snow was around 2-5 feet deep. We climbed for around 3-4 hours and when all was said and done I was bone dry, at least in the areas this product covered (i has cheep pants thats soaked though).
The coat is only a shell, it does not have any insulation. I prefer that because I can always layer underneath. It also worked great with my harness and did not interfere or bunch up.
For Gore-Tex this product is also fairly inexpensive. So thats a thumbs up!

Rated5out of5byMaffuccifromSo far so goodPurchased this in NYC for wind/rain protection. I plan on using it for cycling to class and work as needed. It's a great product, water and windproof. I'm a tall skinny guy with a long torso and the medium fits me really well (I'm 6'2"). It is made to be lightweight and is therefore much thinner. Sometimes I worry it could rip but it never does so I would say it is quite durable. It has basic customizability in the head and waist. Not meant for a helmet to be worn inside the hood. The color is nice (nighthawk; black/gray). While most would buy more extreme waterproof/ breathables for "extreme" conditions, i would be perfectly happy using this in almost any circumstance. It is a good buy. Will update this review as needed. I give it five stars for doing what it is made to do and doing it well.
