Comments about Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Dream Sleeping Pad:
This is a very comfortable sleeping pad. I have an older self-inflating version of the same pad (Dreamtime), and while it feels more substantial than this new one it is also bulky and heavier (by about 3+ pounds). This new pad is VERY comfortable, but as the construction is lighter it bounces around a bit when you first get on it; it doesn't stay as firm as the old one. Once you are resting on the new pad, however, it is very soft and instantly molds to the shape of your body. I find it more comfortable than any Thermarest pad I've ever owned (and I've owned 5).
This pad is not self-inflating, and blowing it up (30" width model) takes about 35 breaths – which can wear you out if you do it all at once. I recommend the tiny(!) Neo-Air pump, which actually inflates the pad almost completely full in about 4-5 minutes (on 2 AAA batteries).
This new pad is an improvement over the previous Dreamtime pads due to the lighter weight and comfort. The product description says the foam topper is memory foam, but I am certain the one I got is plain foam – and this is good because the memory foam on a previous Dreamtime pad I owned was thin, and compressed into a hard, uncomfortable mat (we had to return it, and REI was great about taking it back!). I'd give this product 5 stars if it was a little more substantial feeling, and I had had more time to try it out.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Dream Sleeping Pad:
My wife had the previous non Neo Dream mat. Since we had a great dividend she told me to splurge on one for me. Hers was not available so I got this one. Unfortunately she tried it out one morning while I was making breakfast, she slept in until 10! Now I need to buy another one.
My only gripe is that the valve scuffed the stuff sack while it was enroute to our campsite. The auto-fill function works still so no big deal. Just be careful when packing so the hard plastic fill nozzle doesnt rub on the stuff sack.
Otherwise this is the best mat I have ever used. I just wish someone could carry it for my backpack trips.
If you carcamp, break down and buy this mat, you will not be disappointed.
