Rated5out of5byHerb GfromGreat Product--Important Unique DesignBought this for my daughter when she was planning a trip to Europe. In her previous travels she had noted that there were many stairs and it was hard to get her wheeled luggage up the stairs. We shopped long and hard for a convertible backpack, including comparing it to the Osprey Meridian. We chose this one because it was comfortable when packed heavily and the wheels are on the front of the pack, not the back as with all of the others. This is very important because when you pick up the pack and put it on your back for all of the others the dirty wheels will rub up against your back/buttocks area dirtying or staining your clothes. The wheels on the Flip Switch pack are on the other side (the front) and that does not happen. After returning from Europe my daughter said she absolutely loved this pack and mentioned another advantage--she said this was the only wheeled pack she has ever had that never tipped over no matter how she loaded it. This weekend I brought the pack to help my other daughter move into her new fourth floor apartment which does not have an elevator. She made many trips up the three flights of stairs with this pack full and also loved it telling me she wants to borrow it from my other daughter. Finally, after the big trip to Europe, it looks brand new--very durable. I highly recommend this well thought out product. Incidentally, the suspension and hip transfer of weight appears to be fine; we saw no advantage to the Meridian in this regard.

Rated3out of5byCrazy hikerfromAwkward and heavyI thought this bag was perfect: large capacity, wheeled, but able to be converted to a backpack if I had to carry it for short distances over rough terrain. However, the pack is very awkward to use. you have to turn it around to get out the straps. the zippers are hard to got to. the shoulder straps get tangled on each other and are difficult to snap into place. The hip belt gets stuck on the pack as you pull it out. The pack is also sort of clunky looking- lots of straps flapping all over. On the plus side, it is very well made and has a large capacity.
