The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS Fitness Monitor - Men's:
Sometimes simplicity is all you are looking for. If so this is a great option for you. I use this watch for running, bike commuting and mountain biking. It was exactly what I was looking for, which was a simple and reasonably priced GPS watch. It tracks very accurately, tells me my pace and distance, and has good battery life. I am very impressed with the Garmin Connect website, which stores all of the data. The watch is so simple it only thinks you are running, so if you are using it for cycling you need to change that field in Garmin Connect once you upload the data. Using it for cycling will also results in it thinking you ran a very fast 5K.
I give it 4 stars because sometimes you need to be patient for the connection to establish. This is variable, sometimes it connects in seconds. This is really not too big of a deal for me, but good to know if you are annoyed by that kind of thing. You could always just breathe some fresh air and stretch while it connects.
Bottom line this is useful and motivational fitness tool you can buy at a reasonable price.

I use this watch on every run and I set it to automatically give me mile splits.
it makes keeping the pace I want very easy. The large display and the flashing split at the mile makes it easy to read no matter how fast i'm going.

I have nothing to compare this Monitor to so my comments are just my observations. It takes a little time to secure the location and although I run the same route the milage is from 4.12 to 4.17 but the more I use this monitor the more I like it and it tracks the information that I am most interested in. It tells you your current pace as you run along with elapsed time, distance and calories burned. After the run is over you can see your time for each mile you ran, impressive for the money spent!

I am a 20:00 5k to 3:30 marathon runner. This is my first GPS watch and I love it. Easy to use, light on your wrist, and all the data you need when synced with my MacBook. All I want to do is check my pace as I run so I train smarter and hopefully race better. It is so wonderful at anytime to glance down and know my pace. "So this is what 8:00 mile pace feels like, so this is what 6:45 mile pace feels like... ect." When you are done with your run, you get a useful summary. Buy it.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS Fitness Monitor - Men's:
Being fairly new to trail running and completely new to GPS watches, I was very excited when the Forerunner 10 arrived at my door. I did my homework and this watch definitely seemed the best fit for my basic needs (distance, time, pace).
It was extremely easy to set up and on my first run (a short trail loop at a local state park) the unit synced with the GPS in less than 10 seconds. The Forerunner came back with a distance of 3.20 miles, which was about what I thought the loop length was. I loaded my run on the Garmin Connect software which is awesome. So far, so good...or so I thought...
On my second time out (same location), the watch would not sync at all. My running partner and I waited about 10 mins for it to try and lock onto a satellite, but finally had to give up and run without it. Third time out (again, exact same location), the watch synced fine, but came back with a distance of 3.11 miles, which is almost a tenth of a mile difference. This is 475 feet of difference between two separate readings on the exact same ~3 mile loop! I know that no GPS unit of any type is 100% accurate, so I'm going to continue testing and hope that this was a just a fluke. However, over a football field and a half of difference on the exact same trail loop is more variation that I think is acceptable, especially on this short a distance. I'll be using the device as a training tool, so if I can't trust the data, it's usefulness is limited.

Christmas gift from my sisters in law. Only disappointment is that there is no seconds display on the watch when not in GPS mode. Sounds like a small detail but as a pilot, GPS time to the second is highly desired. Perhaps a software update from garmin could fix this?

Useful training for a race! Can set pace time quickly. Alarm lets you know if you are ahead of pace time, behind pace time or on pace time. If you happen to set a PR during any part of your run it tells you once you have saved the run.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS Fitness Monitor - Men's:
This is my first GPS running watch. I bought it for myself after using an app for my phone that only worked correctly part of the time. For someone who wants an enty level watch, this is amazing, especially for the price. It tracks time, distance, pace, and calories burned(estimate). I didnt want to pay a bunch for a more advanced model, and find out I don't like it.
The GPS locks on pretty quickly. I usually have my watch off next to me while I warm up to run. If you run in the same general area, the GPS locks on pretty quickly. If you are traveling and far away from the last spot you activated GPS it seems to take a little bit longer. The GPS is locked on by the time I am done warming up.
The only downside I had was downloading the program that allows you to upload your runs onto garmin connect or any online server. I was trying to download it to IE 9, but I couldn't do it. There is a simple fix to this. I use Google Chrome, and I can upload my runs without an issue. I am not sure if other browsers like firefox have any issues though.
After uploading your runs, it gives you a breakdown of the run, and how you did. It is good for help keeping track of your progress. Also, once you upload them, you wont have to worry about losing the runs from your watch.
For a no frills basic running watch, this cannot be beat.

this is my first GPS....anything. And i really like it.
I use this for running, and it does the few functions i'm interested in. time/distance/splits/average. it does a few others, but that's all i need, and with this awesome watch, i don't feel like i have a small laptop strapped to my arm.
there are only two things that i'm not thrilled about. a) finding a signal (keep in mind this is my first GPS anything, maybe my expecations are too high). after charging and having been powered down, then turning it back on, it can take a while, up to 3 or 4 minutes, for it to find a signal. that kind of stinks.
b) only 7 saved runs. i knew that when i asked for this watch, and for the most part it's just fine, except...yesterday we did track work 8x800's, it erased my first time. i remembered whtat my time was, and it wasn't a big deal, but it's just somethign to keep in mind.
overall, this is a great watch for the money!
