Love Merrells, but have never seen a Merrell shoe with metal shoelace threader -- very poor design that frays the shoelace every time you tighten the laces

Comments about Merrell Avian Light Ventilator Waterproof Shoes - Women's - 2012 Closeout:

Loved the look and what I had read about these, and Merrell is usually great. I ended up buying a half-size bigger than I wear based on other reviews that mentioned they ran small, but wish I had ordered at least a full size or even a size-and-a-half larger. They were fine for a casual outdoor weekend (minimal hiking/walking) but on a 3-hour trail-building project (walking, pushing wheelbarrows, carrying stuff) they were REALLY cramped and painful in the toes. Ended up buying replacement shoes on my way home and will be returning these this time.
