by fromdoes not work for active sports Although a good design for sitting outside, its use for activities such as running, rowing, paddle boarding is limited because its soft brim does not stay down to shade your face. A rigid brim would be much more useful.

by fromWinner Winner Having no hair, I always need quality sun protection while spending long hours outdoors. This hat definitely provides that and more. Just recently put it thru it's paces while filming for 5 days in the Everglades - it put up with everything I could throw at it. The brim us sturdy, yet it's lightweight and can fold up enough to stick in a pocket or pack. The Omni- Wick sweatband sucks up quite a bit of moisture and the Omni- Freeze works well to keep me cool.

Any outdoorsman will tell you that there are things you cannot leave at the campsite while you conquer the trails and enjoy the natural beauty of our world. Coolhead Booney is one of those things. You just won't beat the quality of material and workmanship. Get one...you'll consider it essential too.

by fromNo cape pouch From the description, one cannot tell whether the hat has a pocket into which one can roll up the cape. It does not -- and it's not comfortable or practical to tuck the cape up under the hat as that blocks the vents. Unless you're hiking west every morning and east every afternoon, the sun is not always going to be on your neck -- and when you can get away with not wearing the neck cape you don't want to wear it as the cape traps heat and interferes with the breeze cooling you off. That said, the cape is obviously valuable when the sun would otherwise be burning your neck, but with neither a mechanism to remove the cape nor tuck it into a pouch when not needed, this hat is impractical. Plus the brim immediately loses its shape, flopping down in such a way that it both interferes with your sight and is unsightly. I suspect one could fix this last issue with some starch, but there's no easy fix for the cape conundrum.

by fromI didn't get sunburned It was over 95 F at Masada and very sunny, I didn't get sunburned -- that's good enough for me being from the land of temperate rain forests -- the pacific northwest. Aren't most of us at least wanne be avid adventurer in life. Why can't this form be incomplete -- probably the last one of these I do.
