    Comments about Outdoor Research Transonic Rain Jacket - Men's:

    The transonic has become my go to shell for ski mountaineering. It's light, breathable and simple. I've found that over the years the only pocket that I use is the chest pocket, and the transonic has only that. Also, pit zips and lower hand pockets are uncomfortable with a harness and/or pack and often unnecessary.
    I previously only used shell jackets for the downhill during storm days or in rain, but the transonic breathes so well that I use it in place of a windshell while working hard due to it's lightweight breatheability.
    Overall, I highly recommend this piece for the minimal, lightweight aficionado.

    A superb piece for lightweight technical use. If you need lots of pockets it is not a piece for you but if you want ultra light, breathable and super functional this jacket is absolutely top notch.

    Think of it as an ultralight version of the already light Axiom Jacket.
