by Chris SaudefromTraction NOT GOODI bought these shoes primarily for back packing and stream fishing. Not the best idea since the traction is very poor with these shoes. The design on the sole of the shoes is slippery on rocks and does not work as they planned with the creasing grip technology. I would recommend these mainly for hiking/ running on dry surfaces or maybe kayaking or boating. They are light weight and could be useful in some situations streams and slippery rocks is not one of them...

by Mariner58fromPerfect for warm weather kayakingI bought these specifically for sea kayaking in warm weather. Previous water shoes I've had were too bulky, particularly those that have an extended sole behind the heal (like most running shoes do), making it difficult to fit my feet inside the cockpit without my toes jambed up against the deck. These have soles no longer than my feet, that are just stiff enough to allow walking on rocks. Grip is pretty good on wet surfaces. Like most mesh water shoes, sand can and does get in when wading, but I don't see any way around that.
For my first day or two of wearing, there was some irritation from rough spots inside where several pieces of fabric come together along the lacing loops. This seemed to resolve itself, though I'm not sure I would want to hike in them. I should mention that I have a wide foot, so I'm sure that didn't help.
So far I'm pleased with them. Hopefully they will hold up. My most recent pair of Teva water shoes self-destructed in a matter of months.

by OaklandSmittyfromReally liking itSince purchasing these, I've worn them for the following:
-on wet rocks
-in water (treading, swimming, etc)
-around the neighborhood
-day use during music festivals (walking, dancing, etc).
And I've found them to be superlative in all areas. My only dislike is the ease with which small rocks can make their way into the shoe while you're in water. But I suppose that comes with the territory. Awesome awesome shoe!

by MontiporafromGreat Shoe- VersatileGreat shoe with a low profile. No support (which is a positive) as the shoe is designed for this. Great for low impact hiking, or wet dry situations. It's become my daily shoe as I dress in casual sport gear most days.
