    I was in the market for spoke lights to increase visibility during night riding and happened to see these in-store at REI while shopping for something else. I picked up two sets (each with two lights, for a total of four lights) for our two bikes. The light is bright enough and, when coupled with the spinning effect, aids in visibility from all sides.

    Unfortunately, the battery on one ran out after just 2 or 3 uses. The others are still ok but I have only used occasionally. My local hardware store did not have a replacement battery, but it looks like you can get them online for less than $1 each in bulk.

    These are sometimes a little painful to install because the tiny clamp to attach to the spoke can be tight and can dig into your fingers. As another reviewer noted, they can be difficult to turn on and off, especially with cold, wet, or gloved hands. It varies from one light to the next.

    There are a ton of other spoke light options out there; I would probably try something else.

      To turn these lights on, you have to twist them clockwise. The set I ordered online was really, really hard to twist, especially with gloves in cold weather. I tried out some others in-store, and there was a pretty wide range of twist-ability. So...I don't think this product has the greatest quality control. I ended up trading mine in for the Nite Ize LED SpokeLit Bike Wheel Light, which was almost the same price, is significantly more visible, and is way easier to turn on (click, not twist).

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
