The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
by LH505frompoor quality materialBought this for a recent river trip and the material started to pick on the first day I wore it. It looks like I walked through some bushes and the material got caught on some branches. Taking it back, unfortunately, because it's a nice hoodie.

by GlockomafromLove KUHL! This looks great, but quality is poor.I bought this before a trip. The first time I wore it, on the plane for a 4 hour flight, it got a half-dozen "snags" in the fabric. It's since gotten many more. I've worn it twice and it looks beat up.
I'm a huge fan of KUHL and have been really pleased about everything else I've gotten from them. This is disappointing.

by krsfromNice style but fragile fabricMy wife picked this up since I need to be careful about sun exposure. The style is really nice and I like the general fit in the body (5'11'' 195 lbs). The hood is small for shielding from the sun and a ball cap really doesn't fit well underneath.
Now about the fabric. It does breathe very well. The big problem is the durability. The fabric is a like a mesh and uses hollow fibers to allow air flow. However in just taking it out of the bag and wearing outside twice it has 3 obvious thread loops where something has caught the fabric. I'd hate to think what will happen when I go fishing and walk through some brush.
This and the small hood mean I am returning.

by VolGradfromGreat layer optionI purchased this to take on a recent 2 day hike. I needed a lightweight layer to wear over a t-shirt that didn't take up too much space in my pack if I warmed up too much to wear it the entire time. It's perfect. It will be great when the weather cools as a layer under a warmer jacket.
I love the way it feels & looks.

by Northwest BoxerfromVersatile PulloverI classify this as a pullover because truthfully I never unzip further than half way. The fit is true with only a minor complaint about the hood being "weird". The truth though is I seldom use hoods and am probably biased against it.
I use the hoodie predominantly for working out and lately as a light layer during morning runs.
Initially I was not sold on the thumb slots but have come to like them a lot.
I definitely would purchase another if this one wears out. I have worn Kuhl pants and shorts but this is the first shirt by the company and it lives up to my expectations.

by Shawn AndersonfromGreat for summer travel.I took this hoodie with me to Chincoteague while on vacation over the week of Labor Day. The weather that time of year can vary, but I knew the odds were really low that I'd need an actual coat. I'm a minimalist packer, and the Kuhl Coffeena hoodie really fit the bill. It's light, it packs down really small, and it's perfect for wearing over a short sleeve shirt when the temp drops a bit. I got a lot of use out of it sitting on Assateague beach when cold air blew in across the beach.
Unfortunately, I can't comment on durability. It's not the type of item I'd take into woods though anyway, if that's your main interest.
In short, I consider this item to be the perfect item if you're only packing shorts and short sleeve shirts, but you know the temperature is likely to drop at night to a little below what you'd consider comfortable for that attire. I've already made myself a mental note to take this hoodie with me next year if I schedule a vacation in the "in between" season.
