The light and flexible Vibram FiveFingers EL-X multisport shoes boast a slim minimalist design for casual or low-impact, multisport wear.
- Airy polyester stretch-mesh uppers and supportive polyurethane overlays hug feet comfortably without restricting movement
- Individual toe slots enhance dexterity, control and stability, helping enable a natural foot motion; toe bumpers supply added protection
- Dri-Lex® nylon linings wick excess moisture away from feet and disperse it for fast drying and enhanced comfort
- Thin EVA insoles act as the midsoles to offer light cushioning and added protection between feet and the ground
- Vibram nonmarking rubber outsoles feature a serrated, micro-lug tread pattern for highly flexible, nonslip performance and traction
- Vibram FiveFingers EL-X multisport shoes are machine washable in cold water; air dry only
- In order to allow your feet to adapt to using different muscles, begin use of these shoes gradually and increase over time
- To determine size, stand with heels against a wall and measure from the wall to the tip of the longest toe on each foot; use the longer of the 2 lengths with the size chart

This is one of Vibram's best offerings, with this model of their FiveFinger line being the thinnest, most lightweight, and most flexible model out there. I've been running in Vibram Five Finger (VFF's)footwear for almost 3 years, and wouldn't think of going back to traditional, thick, stabilized, and dangerous running shoes.
I've alreay put alround 75 miles on these shoes, having done several half marathons, and completely love these shoes. I did have to return these shoes originally, as my size (44), felt really tight, and I could flex my foot without it feeling really tight, and it didn't feel comfortable. I got a 45, and it seems a tad bit large, with my heel not fully fitting in the "heel cup". However, it hasn't affected my form, and i continue to use theme daily.
It is REALLY thin, so be sure to start off slowly, only going a little distance at a time until you get used to barefoot-style running, as these are the thinnest shoes out on the market currently, and you WILL feel any and all debris on the road or trails.
These shoes are mostly meant for easy trails, roadwork, and the gym, but I haven't tried them on technical trails yet, quite sure it will be painful, as i haven't developed many calluses on my feet yet.
All in all, a great shoe, and recommend it to those who love barefoot-style running!

I bought these because I was on a trip and forgot my Bikila's. I ran in them and they worked fine. Now I mainly use them for just going around town. At first they seemed a little snug, but after wearing a couple of times they loosened up and fit well now. I also like that there are no laces or velcro strap. This is probably why they fit a little tighter.

As soon as the photos of the EL-X were released I was intrigued, they looked to feature a minimal upper with a very flexible sole. When I was finally able to get a pair I wasn't disappointed. They pack well and the ground feel is great. The only con I can find is that if your foot isn't exactly the right size you may have trouble with them coming off the heel.

Great fit no velcro or laces needed. These are cooler than most other Vibrams to wear vented well for those hot days. Most comfortable shoes I own and when wearing them all day there is no back pain like I get with other shoes. Highly reccommond.

I use these for everything. I refuse to wear anything else to work out in, doing anything from running and biking to weights. They just can't be beat. I also wear them to class, to church, would wear to work if they would let me. (I work in a warehouse and am required to wear boots.) Simply put, these are the best things I have ever put on my feet.
That said, definitely try them on in store if you can, especially if these are your first Fivefingers. They fit very similar to most VFFs, But since they are not adjustable at all it would be annoying to order them and have them be just a little too big or too small.

This style of VFF is designed to be the lightest, least structured of the brand. It was not designed as a runner per se so the tread structure is more general. For indoor running, lifting, and any floor work it is a great choice for a full barefoot feel without bulk.
