Comments about Asolo Ellery Hiking Boots - Women's:
In the store, these felt comfy on my feet and ankles. I went a half size smaller than my normal boots, and the width was generous in the toebox area (but not too big in the heel).
After killing my feet on a 3.4 mile trail in a different pair of boots, I popped a pair of black superfeet DMP insoles in these (with cushioned hiking socks and liners) and went on a cautious 1.5 mile hike as these had never been worn yet. I was immediately struck as to how comfy these were, and how supportive. I was concerned that they would not be supportive based upon how flexible they are, but I was pleasantly surprised when walking over scree. I then gave them a real test on a 6.4 mile hike.. and my feet have never felt better in a boot. This was definitely worth the investment. They are super breathable without letting in dirt like other mesh-sided boots. I have problems with the balls of my feet, and while the merrell siren song mids made my feet scream and feel like I had bone spurs everywhere (also worn with the dmp insoles), these asolo's saved the day (and trip).
