These things are exactly what I hoped they would be. Having flat feet, I transitioned to a minimalist, zero drop footwear. Also, having recently given up flip flops, I needed a sandal: cuz my dogs need to breath. These things have not disappointed me. They protect the bottoms of your feet and stay in place.

Comments about Teva Zilch Sandals - Men's - 2012 Closeout:

Have used these as my only footwear for the past four months in Thailand. Probably get another two months constant use from them. Great for beach running but only when using barefoot technique rather than heel strike. Same for walking...these sandals are minimalist and best used with barefoot techniques--in fact, they are an excellent training platform for someone wanting to develop proper barefoot mechanics. Only negative is they are not hydrophobic and they feel squishy when saturated and feel "loose" until you get used to it. Good news is they dry fast and they don't retain odor. I have worn these in the Thailand rainy season when there is lots of raw sewage on the streets of Thailand and a simple soapy scrub keeps them neutral smelling.

They take up almost no room in your duffel or pack.

The strap system with big toe loop works better than any sandal I have worn in 25 years.

I was first introduced to these by a Teva Rep at REI a few years ago. This is my 3rd pair in 3 years. I have two more pair NIB in case they discontinue the model.
