Comments about Big Agnes McAlpin SL Sleeping Bag:
So I am looking for a new down bag ... as a 5' 11" large breasted woman NO women's bags work for me (short and narrow shoulder cut), so I always go for a men's bag, everything else about this bag fits the bill BUT it tops out at 70 inches and all of BA's women's bags are way short OR they offer a bulky "semi" mummy bag = heavy load.
Where are these hobbits? Or am I the weird one?

Comments about Big Agnes McAlpin SL Sleeping Bag:
Spent a cold night (high 20s/low 30s) at China Hole at Henry Coe SP. The McAlpin kept me warm and comfortable while wearing a base layer and beanie.
In the morning the outer shell was very cold to the touch, but the inside was warm and dry. I am interested to see how well the down will repel water during a rain.
The included stuff sack is an appropriate size, but still leaves some room for compression in your backpack. I wish it was a *tad* wider, but certainly not a deal breaker.
Overall, I would purchase again.

Comments about Big Agnes McAlpin SL Sleeping Bag:
I did say that I am a minimalist in my gear style, but even for being a minimalist this sleeping bag combined with the insulated mummy pad from Big Agnes were almost as comfortable as a pillow top mattress. I usually have a hard time sleeping this combination was the best ever. I slept like a bear every night on my 8 days trip, and none of my limbs were cold.
It is true that this sleeping bag is expensive but it is a life long investment. I am going to be using it on many trips to come. I said it's a 4 season sleeping bag but I did not try it in the summer yet. For cold weather it definitely did what it is supposed to do. Comparing it with my limited experience with nice sleeping bags I really think it was roomy for my kind of height and built (5'7 in, 164 lbs), I bought the regular size.
I am very happy with this product and can't wait for the next opportunity to use it!
