by Cannonball TimfromZero Degrees and ComfyIdeally, my first winter camping trip should have been about 20 degrees overnight... Turned out to be zero. The new bag, combined with a quality insert liner, provided a very nice night of sleep. The bag gets the "Goldilocks Award"...not too hot...not too cold...just right!

by upstreamfromCome on Big AgnesSo I am looking for a new down bag ... as a 5' 11" large breasted woman NO women's bags work for me (short and narrow shoulder cut), so I always go for a men's bag, everything else about this bag fits the bill BUT it tops out at 70 inches and all of BA's women's bags are way short OR they offer a bulky "semi" mummy bag = heavy load.
Where are these hobbits? Or am I the weird one?

by StevenCfromSolid Bag for Cold WeatherMade first trip with Big Agnes McAlpin SL last month in CO. Found bag to be more spacious than other reviews suggested (Large size - I'm 6', 200lbs). Temps in 30's - I was comfortable; not too hot, nor too cold. The bag, even when compressed is pretty bulky compared to other. albeit lighter weight, down bags I have owned - a consideration for backpacking. It's a pretty shiny shell and, in uneven sites, I found myself "sliding" to the low end of the tent - not a big issue, but worthly of mention.

by Adventurous PANfromExceptional ProductI did say that I am a minimalist in my gear style, but even for being a minimalist this sleeping bag combined with the insulated mummy pad from Big Agnes were almost as comfortable as a pillow top mattress. I usually have a hard time sleeping this combination was the best ever. I slept like a bear every night on my 8 days trip, and none of my limbs were cold.
It is true that this sleeping bag is expensive but it is a life long investment. I am going to be using it on many trips to come. I said it's a 4 season sleeping bag but I did not try it in the summer yet. For cold weather it definitely did what it is supposed to do. Comparing it with my limited experience with nice sleeping bags I really think it was roomy for my kind of height and built (5'7 in, 164 lbs), I bought the regular size.
I am very happy with this product and can't wait for the next opportunity to use it!

by gomustangsfromGreat bag for low temps.Spent a cold night (high 20s/low 30s) at China Hole at Henry Coe SP. The McAlpin kept me warm and comfortable while wearing a base layer and beanie.
In the morning the outer shell was very cold to the touch, but the inside was warm and dry. I am interested to see how well the down will repel water during a rain.
The included stuff sack is an appropriate size, but still leaves some room for compression in your backpack. I wish it was a *tad* wider, but certainly not a deal breaker.
Overall, I would purchase again.
