Comments about Brooks Cascadia 8 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I have been looking for this fit for 50 years! Like the Cascadia 7, the 8 is wonderful shoe. As one who has never before purchased a shoe that didn't require breaking in (with the associated blisters) these shoes fit perfect from the start. I have hiked & run 105 miles through Zion and the Grand Canyon and never had a foot concern or problem. My only complaint, and perhaps this is due to the rocky terrain, is that the stitching above the toe starts to wear long before the soles do, this was the reason I replaced my 7's and I have already noticed wear on my 8's!

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 8 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I bought these shoes for two purposes. 1) I was in the market for a second pair of shoes. 2) I trust Brooks. I have only ran a handful of times with these shoes (on trails) as I do much of my running on the road and wear a different Brooks shoe for that (Ghost 5), however, the few runs I've done the shoes were great. I have also worn them on small hikes and they have done me justice. The only con i can think of is that they are a little heavy, but that doesn't bother me at all. If you don't consider these shoes if you are in the market, you might be missing out on a great item!

Best use for Brooks Cascadia line is longer trail races including ultras. Cushioning and positive lacing over arch are outstanding.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 8 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I am a big fan of the Cascadia shoe, having run in both the 5's and 6's, but took a season off to try a different, more minimalist shoe. I came right back to the Cascadia 8's!
Most notable is the change in the upper, which seems lighter and more breathable. The tread gives ample grip on both packed and loose trail but I have yet to try them on wet. I suspect they'll do just fine!
The only negative is the wide toe box…found blisters on the tips of my toes after my first run in them. Re-lacing them in a snugger configuration did the trick!

I have two pairs of these Brooks... my second pair is brand new in the box just incase i can't find them when I wear out my first pair. Enough said.

I really like these shoes. The only thing I might change would be a slightly better rock plate, but only need that in extremely rocky conditions.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 8 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I found that these shoes are excellent but not durable enough for mixed (rocky) trails. After 2 months of use (2 times a week/15 miles a week average, approximately 120 miles) the sole cracked and one of the cleats was peeling off and many of the cleats were worn down to the point that the shoes needed replacement. This was my first pair of these and REI replaced them for free, REI has the best customer service. The people in the shoe department were shocked that they wore out so fast and thought they might be defective. I am trying another pair and see if I have the same results. I wrote Brooks and they alluded to the fact that they are for trail running and not for mixed (rocky) trails.

Great lighhtweight running shoe. Have been a lifelong supporter of adidas shoes but when I tried these on I was in love. Have used them on loose sand trails and hard packed stuff too; so far they work great. Very light, great support and I even loved the blue/grey color.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 8 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I used to hike a lot but stopped about 4 years ago when I moved to San Diego and started again but never had good trail shoes. When I started again I injured my hand because of slipping and a bad infection in my hand because I did not have trail shoes. I went to REI and the salesperson recommended these Brooks Cascadia 8s and they are excellent. I cut my best time of 3 hours to 2 hours and 20 minutes. I also never slip anymore. I highly recommend these shoes.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 8 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I was born with club feet, so my problem is supination rather than pronation. Still, these shoes fit well, and I enjoy running in them, even though it's only 2-4 miles per day.
I am a bit concerned about the tread on the bottom of the shoes. They look to be well made, but intended to be used for the purpose of digging into soft ground. So, these shoes seem good for use on trails in most conditions, but not so good on hard surfaces, like roadways.
Service and delivery comments:
The staff at the store was really helpful in picking out just what I needed.
