Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I agree completely with what all other reviewers have said. I own four other pairs of Adventures pants and shorts, and love them. This years version is MUCH snugger particularly in the crotch & waist, and about an inch shorter in overall length. They are cut like a slim-cut pair of khakis from banana republic, which is frankly not what I'm looking for in a hiking / adventure pant. That said, the material and workmanship seems as good as ever so if you are particularly slim or want a slim hiking pant for some reason... this is your item.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
One of the main reasons I tried these pants was because a previous reviewer said they were too slim fitting for him. Well that works out perfectly for me. I wouldn't say these pants are tight or skinny fitting at all but, they aren't quite as baggy as most pants of this type. I am 5'-8", 134 lbs and they fit just right for me.
I like the extra zippered pocket on the right leg. Perfect for my iPhone.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
As earlier reviews suggested, the cut on the new version of the Adventures pants is different. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, unless you like the previous version. I have four pairs of the old version (sigh, they are no more).
I wore mine (from "new" through "worn-out") for work, then travel, then parenting (think all-weather, outdoor sporting events), then hiking, and finally yard work.
The *old* fabric was a legit 3-season fabric, and worked just fine for PA winters from car-to-office, making them year-round wearable. The *old* cut was professional, not tight anywhere without saggin' and without decorative cargo pockets or rip-short seam-zippers.
The *new* version is a lighter weight fabric, more breathable and quicker to dry, but less useful from late fall to early spring. The *new cut* is a full inch and a half lower in the rise (old, 32"inseam + 12"rise; new, 32"inseam + 10.5"rise) and they are now "snug" in a lot of the wrong places for work or hiking (for example, the old pants were 25" around the thigh at a spot 10" below the crotch; the new are just 22" around at same place).
I will say the pockets have been improved from an already excellent configuration. Both rear pockets were zippered on the old version. Now, just the right-handed wallet pocket is, and without a flap. They've also added a zipped security pocket for a passport or smartphone inside one of the front pockets.
Finally, the 'light' colored option of the new pant is a different color: about two shades lighter. The old 'light' color was called Ash, these are a more traditional light khaki color.
Because of the low-rise, I wouldn't wear these if you're over 35. If you've a very thin build, and are in the market for a pair of travel pants (think, below the 45th parallel), then I would indeed recommend them. Unfortunately, that's not a demographic into which I fit, anymore than I fit into the same size of the new version of the Adventures pants.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
These have become my sole travel pants. Two pairs will look good and keep me comfortable for a week. They are easy to wash on the road/trail and they are loose and comfortable for hot days.
My only minor suggestion is to restore the zipper to the back left pocket. Zips for both rear pockets would be better.
A few more colors would be nice as well.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
Very disappointed. These have been my favorite pants for years, but the cut has been changed this year.
I have a pretty average 36x32 build. While the waist and length are similar, about right for the size, the overall fit feels very awkward. It's simply not comfortable, and with movement the legs bind at and above the knee.
I hope REI will bring back the original cut, which in my opinion was the perfect balance of "relaxed fit" without being baggy. Otherwise I'll have to find new pants.
Try them on. The quality is high if you like the fit.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
Nice looking pants, but too 'fitted' for me, and no size fits me right. I have the previous version in the both colors. The previous version was not 'fitted' and had just the right amount of space, neither too tight nor too loose. I'm 6', 175 lbs, normal build, 34x32 size forever. This new model 34x32 is too tight everywhere, when I crouch they get too tight in too many places, not as roomy nor stretchy as the previous model, and they look too tight/ill-fitted; the 36x32 is too loose and folds/creases/bunches up when belted. This new version seems to be made of slightly lighter material, and the color is more dark gunmetalblue-ish than black/dark-gray like previous. If they had this in a 35 waist I'm guessing they'd fit me and I would probably buy them, but they come in even sizes only... Too bad, because I really like the previous version.
