Rated2out of5byBackpacker63fromPoor craftsmanshipBought 1 each of these Smartwool tops in the 3 styles offered on REI.com. I loved the colors and style and they looked great with slacks. But every single one twisted sideways when washed. The fabric was improperly cut and/or sewn crooked and while wearing them I felt compelled to constantly straighten them. Returned them and was disappointed in the lack of quality control.

Rated4out of5bycampchickfromComfortable shirtI purchased this shirt in mineral and chino and wore them camping recently in Sequoia National park. I love icebreakers and these for layering as I prefer merino next to my skin rather than the coolmax or other synthetic moisture-wicking shirts. The material was not too thin as to be see-through, but was thin enough for hot weather activity. The fit was flattering enough and the single shoulder seam was not an issue. I actually think these fit me better than the icebreaker crew.

Rated5out of5bystonycreekfromVery niceI have this shirt in the color Mineral. I don't find it to be see through. I like the seam on only one shoulder. The v neck is nice - not too low. I love the really thin wool fabric. I wear either a large or x-large, the x-large fits me best in this shirt.

Rated4out of5byJStreetfromVery comfortable but see-throughI bought this shirt in yellow which has different detailing than the other colors. I thought the gathering on one shoulder with the other colors was a little weird. The yellow has gathering details down the sides of the shirt which I think is flattering. The shirt fits great and is very soft and comfortable. I really like the wicking properties. My only complaint is the yellow color is very see-through. You can see every detail on whatever you are wearing underneath. I'm tempted to put on a camisol underneath but that would negate most of the wicking properties and add an extra layer that may not be wanted. I will try another color (weird gathering detail on the shoulder and all) as I really do like this shirt, but I would like slightly more modesty.

Rated2out of5bymizseattlefromWeird seamLOVE smartwool but I thought this was an odd design. If you look closely, only one shoulder has a seam. It doesn't look purposeful, it looks like an "irregular" item that messed up in manufacturing. I thought it looked odd.
Perhaps if you have a lopsided chest the seam would be good?
