I really like that this coat offers underarm vents. Got the coat to pack and take camping. Stuffs down into its own carrying pouch.

Water beads up and off the jacket nicely. Haven't had a chance to wash it yet but BE SURE to follow the directions so you don't ruin it after the first wash. (ex. Only wash with cold water, don't use liquid detergent, etc)

I've only had this jacket for a few months and so far, I really have no complaints. After wanting one for quite a while, I finally nabbed one on clearance. I actually own two of them - one in a men's medium and one in a woman's large. I am a 5'6" female and the men's medium is PERFECT w/ a hooded sweatshirt or fleece underneath (more room in the chest, allowing free arm movement). The women's large fits perfect for warmer weather use (t-shirt underneath). I use these jackets as shells in the milder parts of winter, and have not been disappointed at all. I have yet to use this jacket in a true downpour, thus I was hesitant to give it a true '5-star' rating until I can see it's performance in that scenario.

I got this to keep lightweight raingear in my travel gear. It works great in that capacity. I've not used it enough to speak to how it holds up but based on fit and finish, I suspect it will wear well.

I am in the woods at least one weekend a month as a leader in a Boy Scout troop. I read the reviews and thought this would be a lighter alternative to my older gore-tex parka, but am very disapointed. I have used it while backpacking, hiking, and just sitting around in the rain and after 3-4 uses this thing leaks like crazy. I even bought a second precip jacket thinking first must be defective, but had the same results. Then bought a North Face Venture jacket and have had great results. If you want to stay dry i would stay away from this one!

I find this to be a great lightweight rain jacket for spring/summer everyday use. It's very lightweight and as such is great to take on a backpacking trip without adding much wieght or taking up much space. I'm 5'-7" 150lbs and was right on the line between a medium and a small. I ordered the medium first and it was too big. The small is just right for me. Sleeve length and torso length are perfect for me. It's about as comfortable against the skin as a rain jacket will get. This jacket has been all that it was advertised to be so far. Nice product.

If you are looking for a lightweight, waterproof layer, look no further. I am finally replacing my first PreCip jacket that I bought almost 10 years ago. That jacket lasted through countless downpours and kept me dry the entire time including on a camping trip with 8 straight days of rain. Only after year 6 or 7 did I feel the need to "recharge" the waterproofing which was easy enough and lasted another few years. The only reason I decided to replace the jacket was that it began to look like it had been on 10 years worth of camping and hiking trips.

My new PreCip jacket has a more athletic cut than my previous one but I can still comfortably layer it with most of my insulating layers, including one of my down jackets. As long as you don't plan to play in the snow all day, this jacket will serve all of your needs.
