Comments about UCLEAR Force Single Snow Helmet Communication System:
This is one of the best investments I have made in a while. The military grade technology that Uclear has made is like no other. I was given this product to test and my expectations where met. The unit was easy to install in my helmet that had speaker pockets. The sound inside the helmet is just like having high quality head phones in your ears and the intercom system is amazing! The distance that you can get with the intercom system was a considerable distance (with only 2 units- it increases with every aditional unit). The way the unit triangulates your voice and gets rid of all wind and external noise other than your voice was amazing. I could be skiing down the mountian and talk on the phone at the same time with no problems. The connection between my phone or ipod was never lost and I had endless music all weekend, battery life was no issue for two days of skiing. The HBC 220 had easy button commands, so never once did I have to take my hands out of my gloves to change the song or answer a call.
The weather also did not affect it. Battery life was not minimized even in the negative temperatures that it was exposed to. And wet conditions didn't even phase it. The only thing I wish had been engineered differently was the size of the buttons. AT first it was difficult to find the correct button and push with gloves, but once I got used to it it was not as difficult.
Overall the HBC 220 unit was the best money can buy. I only wish all my friends had one.

Comments about UCLEAR Force Single Snow Helmet Communication System:
The Uclear Force Snow (HBC220) represents the holy grail of snowsports audio:
-Listen to your tunes
-Pause or turn the volume down to chat with a liftie, or buds on the chair
-Change tracks when pandora serves up one that sucks
-Take that inopportune phone call when the wind is howling, and know that you'll be understood
-Call the girlfriend to see where you lost her
And last but not least: built-in intercom and optional FRS radio integration for backcountry use, or when you're just really serious about communication.
So you might be a little surprised when you try them on, and it sounds like you're inside a tuna can. The audio quality is seriously bad when it comes to music, even for Bluetooth. I'm no audiophile, and I can barely tolerate the quality of sound this unit pumps out. For listening quality, it's beaten handily by just about every other Bluetooth headset on the market. There is absolutely no bass to speak of, and the amount of line noise/hum is like plugging in to the inflight audio on an aging 737 jet.
The only redeeming quality is that the microphone is excellent. The beam forming technology really works amazingly well. If you need to take/make phone calls, or talk on the radio, this unit cannot be beaten. I run a small business, and so I need to be able to take random phone calls, even when I'm off for the day. I've tried several different hands-free kits, throat microphones, etc... And this bests them all for audio pickup. You should be able to have a real conversation fairly easily, without any fear of wind noise, or sounding muffled. They won't even know you're skiing/riding unless you tell them.
So for such an advanced (and expensive) unit, you can imagine that it's quite disappointing that Uclear skimped so badly on audio playback. 99% of the time, you're going to be listening to music. It stands to reason that the playback quality should at least be from the right decade. For audio playback, there is simply no competition with any modern unit.
