      I feel that my new Darn Tough Light Hiker Micro Crew socks are very similar in comfort, fit, and performance to my old Smartwool PhD Outdoor Light Crew Socks.

      I was looking for something different from Smartwool but still comparable, and since the Colorado Springs REI does not carry the Darn Tough brand in-store (at least that I could find), I ordered these online. Like the Smartwool PhD socks, DT are made in the USA!

      I haven't backpacked in these DT's yet, but I will update my review after this summer when I've put them to good use. So far, I'm really happy - good temperature control, support, cushioning, especially in my hiking boots that have a higher heel. And I love the fun colors.
