REI Members get back an estimated 10% on this item as part of their annual member refund.

      The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

However, it is not mentioned in the product description or specs what the limitations are. It clearly states on the tag attached to the item that was just delivered that it "expands to hold any beverage size up to 24 oz". I enjoy soda of the 44 oz or bigger variety. This item cannot even hold the bottom of a necked-down 44 oz soda cup. Only get this item if you drink from your typical coffee cup or a 12 oz soda can--then it should work fine though I cannot review how well it holds on the handlebar since I won't be mounting it. It's going to be returned.

by fromawesome! i was looking for a holder that holds cans for camping and rolling down the creek trail with a can of ice cold beverage, this holder is just the thing! it adjusts to hold different sizes and holds cans perfectly! i ended up buying one for a friend that couldn't live without one! (after he teased me about it, then saw it in action!)

by fromGreat to carry your beverage when riding I bought this specifically for holding my coffee on my morning bike ride in Yosemite Valley during a recent camping trip. I like that it expands to fit and holds firmly a paper coffee cup as well as my steel coffee thermos. It does hold firmly so don't expect to drink and ride, but should you really be drinking a hot beverage while riding anyway? The firm hold ensured that I arrived at my destination without spilling a drop! Make sure you have a level spot on your handle bar to attach to. Check out the REI video to see how it looks on the handle bar.

by fromLove it I like this one a lot more than my old cup holder because this one has a base and is adjustable in width, both which are good for different shapes & sizes of coffee & water bottles. Plus it's great for other miscellaneous things, like when I bought a plant start at the nursery and didn't want to balance it in my bike bag! The only "con" is that you need to make sure to screw it on really tight because it tends to slide a bit.
