The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated4out of5byrichwafromLove These Pants! After I bought one pair and wore it for a while I immediately bought another pair! That should give an idea of how much I love these pants.
I've worn them at the Oregon coast in a torrential rain/wind storm and they were comfortable :) I've worn them in freezing (8 degree F) temperature with eight to ten mph winds in surprising comfort. Be interesting to see how comfortable they are in warm weather.
Fit, for me, is a bit problematical in that I have long legs and a high waist (6'2", 198#) so I could use some more room between the crotch and waist (but this is true of most pants for me.) Aside from that the fit is true and very comfortable.
I think part of the comfort lies in the very few pockets on these pants. I don't load them down so take my "not enough pockets/storage" with a grain of salt.
Some other notes: These pack very well and can be rinsed/washed in a hotel sink or bucket when camping: they dry fast and clean easy. I also use these pants as my "dress" pants for "fancy" occasions :)

Rated4out of5bylightfighterfromNo Belt?I used these pants to hike Blanca Peak and the surrounding peaks. These pants worked very well and as advertised. I wore a lightweight under layer and, in conjunction with the Endeavor pants they wicked the sweat away very well and I stayed plenty warm. I was able to wear both layers while hiking and stay dry, and it kept me warm when we stopped.
Pros: Comfortable, easy movement, fast drying, lightweight
Cons: No belt loops, the plastic buckle makes me nervous and I wonder how long it will last, they need at least one more pocket on the other leg, the zippers are a bit small to grab with gloves on
Recommended use: Any type of hiking these pants will work well.

Rated4out of5byThe cat whispererfromComfortable pants for travelI like to travel light and on a recent trip to Europe took these pants along. They are nice looking for the evening, but very functional for getting around on all but the hottest days. Very deep front pockets and a useful zip pocket on the thigh--where I carried passports and tickets. These dried quickly when hung in the bathroom after washing.

Rated5out of5byGreenBastardfromHow about some new colors?I love these pants. They are one of the few pants available that have a 34 inch inseam and do not have the stupid detachable legs (who ever takes off their pant legs?). It also doesn't force you to use their built-in belt. Great pants. But why has REI dropped every other color in this size except "concrete"? The ones I have are sagebrush and they're great at hiding stains. It's been at least a year since REI offered any other options, at least in this size.

Rated5out of5byLowcountryNataliefromYay, pants that fit the husband!I was so happy to find 'off-the-rack' pants to fit my tall, lanky husband (he wears a 29 in. waist). It's almost impossible to find a 34 inseam in his waist size, and the small size in this pant fit him well and look great. The fabric is nice and they wash up well; he likes to wear lighter-weight pants in the summer (vs. his usual jeans). He also dislikes convertible pants (he won't wear shorts!) so these fit the bill for him.

Rated5out of5byRickJaxfromPants are AwesomeThese pants are great. Most cheap pants are too thick and make my backpack rub my waist raw after a few days of hiking. These are very lightweight and have a thin waist band with built in belt. Just hiked the AT for 5 days with temps from 75 to 35 and rained off and on. Dries very quickly. Very happy, worth the money.

Rated5out of5byBandido63fromVery versatile pants for hiking/backpackPurchased these pants recently and just spent the entire last weekend from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon wearing them. Went out for a backpacking weekend in temps from 32F to about 60F. These pants were fantastic. They are stretchy so they don't bind or restrict your movements. The stitching is done in such a way that it does not chafe or cause any rub spots as you walk/move. They breath well and dry quickly so they get sweat away from your body and they hide the stains pretty well. Did not feel cold during the cold weather and did not feel hot during the warmer weather even during active periods. Great pair of pants all around. They have a small leg pocket that is perfect to stash a cell phone or maybe some snacks. Well worth the price. The only complaint would be the little toggle at the bottom of each leg to cinch the cuff close to your body. I think this is unnecessary and just adds weight but such a minor thing that it is easily overlooked with such an otherwise great pair of pants. Very happy with this purchase!

Rated1out of5byPaddler ChipfromTry 'em on firstI ordered these pants over the web. The material sounded perfect for pursing activities in our Maryland winters. I intended to use them hiking, biking and paddling.
Right out of the bag, I was disappointed to see the short zipper, which meant these pants were of the low-rise variety favored by those who like to show u-trou & butt crack.
I have a 34" waist, so had ordered the medium size. 34 is the upper end of medium, but I get a good fit from REI's Sahara pant in M. I tried these Endeavor pants on and found them very tight--form fitting from above the knee through the short waist. I guess I would need the L in these pants, but I prefer pants with a full rise.
Here's what the catalog says about these pants: "The REI Endeavor Hiking pants have a classic fit that's cut just right for easy wearing." Since when does "classic fit" include low rise (rise is the part of the pant from crotch to waistline)? These are only classic in the manner of hip-huggers from the 70s! For an pant made for active wear, I think the design is inappropriate. On the bike, they'd be showing wicked plumbers crack. No thanks, REI, I sent them back.
I didn't have the experience with these pants to give them a star-rating, but the form requires it, so I have given one star because I'm aggravated over the inaccurate description on the web site.
Your results may differ. The material looked fantastic. Just try before you buy, or if you favor the plumbers crack look, buy two right now!
