Comments about REI Endeavor Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:

I have three pairs of the Schoeller Dynamic vintage REI Mistrals that I love. I was looking for hiking-camping pants that were a convertible version of the REI Mistral. The REI Endeavor is close to the Mistral in comfort and fit. Zipping off the lower half of the legs while on the trail is fast and easy. Zipping them back on is also pretty smooth. Some reviewers have commented on the length of the short being too short. I think the length is just right because it ends right above the knee, which means the zipper does not irritate behind my knee or back of my leg with every step. The first time I wore them was on a ten mile hike into a camp site, with temperature change from 80 to 40 degrees. Going back and forth from shorts to pants came in handy.

These pants are warm. Very durable even when climbing scree to get to a summit. These pants are of good quality and fit. A little on the warm side and may make causal use in the summer uncomfortable but they do unzip. They are great at protecting your legs from hazards, the elements, and the sun. A must for any serious trip.
