I bought this to wear over a dog sweater in winter and also for rain. Ohio never disappoints in providing a wide range of weather so I have tried it under both conditions already and so far so good! The chest measurement is very accurate. The only thing I can find to complain about is that when she bends down to sniff, which she does a lot, the underside becomes a bit loose but when her head is up it is a perfect fit. It was easy to adjust. She looks so cute in it too!

This jacket fits my terrier perfectly. It's hard to find a jacket that fits him. He is 11" neck, 18" chest, 13" tall, and 14" from shoulderblades to the base of his tail. It's easy enough to get him in and out of it and easy to adjust. The little cap covers his eyes so it isn't really practical. I am going to try to figure how to peg it up. I haven't seen one of these jackets with a functioning cap yet.
I wish they made the same exact size and pattern in a warm jacket. I have to make sure he has a sweater on to wear this in the Bay Area rain, because we don't have warm rainy days. I'd also love one that was made of mesh with glow stripes for dry warm evening walks.

Although this is an excellent item, it was too small for my dog. That's why it is better to purchase in person than online. I guess it isn't like getting the wrong order at a drive through and you get home to find out but don't want to drive back.

My dog hates the rain, he wont even go through the door if he see's rain, but this helps.
The large belly band keeps splattering water and mud off his belly, it fits his body well (mostly), and the hood is actually functional, not just a decorative piece. In general it looks good, is not to fashiony and is made to perform. I hate putting my dog in fashion type pet clothes, he needs to be warm and dry not look like a barbie, and this does the job well.
My dog is a pit mix so he has a big head, and I find it a tight fit getting it on and off over his head but luckily he tolerates anything. I also ordered based on his girth measurement, but had to go up a size and reorder, this could just be due to his shape, since he has a big muscular chest and neck and wide shoulders. I guess his belly girth is not in the same proportion to size compared to most breeds, so that is something to consider if you have a muscular dog.

I bought this sun rain jacket for my boyfriend's dog Cruiser (50 lb mutt). The medium fit him perfectly. We put it on him and he didn't mind wearing it around. The hood doesn't bother him either. It is at a position where it doesn't rub on top of his head, etc. Everyone loves seeing him wear it. Keeps him dry. it is well made.

We are very happy with it and so is Cruiser!

Finally, my dog has serious gear for withstanding the elements. I've got a 15 pound mini poodle that loves going backpacking with me. He rarely gets cold so I didn't necessarily need something for warmth. I was looking for true rain gear...think of the Marmot Precip for dogs.

This fits the bill perfectly. All seams are taped. The outer fabric is very durable (it's constructed with a classic grid pattern) and will withstand various scrapes and brushes in the backcountry. It's got a true breathable laminate on the inside which breathes well helping to maintain my little buddy's core temp.

I thought the hood that came with it was going to be a simple novelty...not so. The way it's designed helps keep rain off his head keeping him drier as we continue hiking. It's got a cleverly designed slot that allows you to attach a leash to his collar and when not in use, still maintains waterproofing.

When the hood is not in use, the zipper section can be stored in the collar and out of the elements. It looks great.

I also bought one of Ruffwear's beacon lights which is designed to attach to the back of the Sun Shower jacket. Not only will he be protected by the elements, but he'll be safer with the beacon attached.

Bottom line...great product by a great company. Come on Spur...we're going backpacking!

Sizing for Lhasa Apso: XS. Manufacturer recommended XXS but that would way too small. Dog's girth is 15 inches. This coat is just like my REI rain jacket. Adjustable waist buckles. Has a zip-off hood! I searched all over for a decent rain coat - the stiff plastic ones were tough for my dog to walk in. The flimsy plastic ones had holes where stitching was placed and poor fitting. The only improvements I would add: a velcro band at the neck and a loop in the body to thread a leash from a harness. Otherwise the perfect coat. Sadly I think this model is discontinued.
