by fromUncomfortable waist All parts of the pants are cumfy except the waist. It has absolutely no stretch and it's cut as thought it is for old fashioned "fitted" pants with a high waist the "raise" is below waist so the waist ends up being tight and wanting to go up near the belly button. Bad design.

by fromGreat hiking pants I bought these pants specifically for hiking during the shoulder season where the temperatures and conditions can vary dramatically in a day. The pants are heavy enough to keep you warm on a cold day (as long as you're moving), but also breathe well on warm days. I really appreciate the ankle adjustment feature- it allows you to tighten the leg opening around your boot which keeps the extra material out of the mud when hiking or out of your way when climbing. My only quibble (and it's a small one) is that the pockets are a bit small and the back pockets have a velcro closure that pulls open if you bend over, so they are not secure. But if you usually bring a backpack along (which I do) then this doesn't really matter. I usually have to wear petite sizes, but found that the petite version of this pant has a shortern inseam than I'm used to, so I went with the regular fit (I'm 5'3ish" with a 28" inseam).

by fromMy Second Pair! Great for throwing on quickly to take the dog for a walk especially with our recent much cooler weather - A LOT warmer than jeans for sure. Washes up easily and dries quickly. My first pair doesn't have the velcro strap around the ankle - nice addition. I usually wear a size 6 however needed to go up to an 8. Will just barely accommodate a very light weight pair of liners for extra warmth for cross country skiing.

by fromWish They Had a Longer Rise I really like the pants and even like the pockets in back as I tuck a hankie there and the velcro keeps it in place They pants look great and I can move comfortably in them. I have a high waist and the rise on these results in them fitting well below my natural waist. I am also not a petite but am not overly tall and find the average is too long (what I bought) and the petite is too short (I can't abide high-waters).

by fromComfy and stretchy Bought these pants 3 hours before a hike, ripped off the tag and took them on quite an adventure. I'm glad I tried them on though, I wear a ladies junior size 6 with room to spare and had grabbed a size 8 petite, which strangely fit just right. I will gladly give a 5th star if the sizing was a little more accurate. (I've worn the same size pants for 8 years with no major weight changes, so I have consistently been a size 6) They hold up to washing very well, stretch in the right places, and my backside didn't pop out of the dreaded belt gap in the back. Clumsy me, I tripped and went down between a tree and a bush in a heavy wooded area, laid there for a second thinking "I've ripped the bottom out of these for sure!" Low and behold, not even a teeny tiny tear anywhere and the dirt wiped right off! The pants are a little loud (if you are a normal female human being and thighs touch even a little) but not too loud to feel like I needed to talk over my pants or that they distracted others. Adding layers wasn't a problem and also didn't get bunched up in the inseam or change how wonderfully flexible these pants are in the knees or back pocket area. Highly recommended, and I will be coming back to get a few more pairs! (Try them on first!)

by fromThese pants look and feel amazing! I wore these pants on a long hike with a difficult rock scramble. The pants let me move my legs freely and I didn't feel too warm or cold wearing them. I bought them one size larger than I normally wear in a petite size. The velcro around the ankles would let you adjust the leg hole in case the length is still too long. The pants look excellent. I'm a tight fit around the hips and butt and it wasn't a problem at all. I also tried layering a tight pant underneath, and the fit still felt good. I agree with some of the other reviews about the back pockets. I noticed at the end of the hike one pocket had shifted itself outwards but a quick adjustment fixed that for the rest of the day.
