I had a previous version of this pant and wore them for yoga. The older version seemed a bit lighter weight and looser. Anyway, mine were getting a big ragged-looking (seams were fraying), so I ordered a new pair. Like the other reviewers said, these seem to be of a tighter and slightly heavier material, but are still comfortable. Beyond the differences from the past versions, I did notice a design flaw from the second time I have worn these. They have a thick elastic band for the waist, but it doesn't seem to be sewn/attached to the pants very well. What I mean is that the elastic folds in half while washing and wearing, so instead of having a 1-inch-thick elastic waist, it's about 1/2-inch and very heavy/tight. If they could fix this, I would give it 5 stars.

When I ordered these pants I thought they were the same ones that were available last spring. I love those capris and when I attempted to order a second pair last summer they were already sold out. So when I saw these this spring I got excited. They are similar, length, material, quality, etc. But they are more fitted than the ones available last year. The fit of the ones last year was what really sold them. Not too loose, not too tight. These are a bit tighter, particularly through the thighs. Commenting on this season's specifically, they are loose from just above the knees down, and very comfortable. The quality is excellent as expected with REI products. The material is thick enough to hold up and keep its shape and will break in nicely without getting that old worn out look. I feel comfortable wearing them to work, to work out, and leisurely around the house and town. The waist is a little high, even for a bigger girl product, and the elastic wants to roll a little bit. That said, I like these capris and will be keeping them, and am actually wearing them right now. But if I had the choice between last seasons and this pair, the decision would be simple, last season's crush this year's design.

These pants are very comfortable! I couldn't believe they fit so well. Being a plus size girl, you sometimes need a little extra support from fabric and this delivers. They're lightweight, thick material, but not tight at all. I will buy another pair.
