Comments about Lucky Bums Utility Sled Tow Harness:
The poles are fairly light, easily adjustable, and end rings are substantial, and worked well. The provided harness attaches easily to both a standard belt, or backpacking hip belt and the front clip prevents it from slipping. Unfortunately the stamped hardware attached to the harness is useless. The first clip broke less than a 1/2 mile into the trail, and the second failed at just over a mile. Fortunately I had several spare carabiners, simply swapped out the useless clips, and the poles worked flawlessly the rest of the trip. I would highly recommend replacing the clips before use. The rest of the setup appears much better designed.

Comments about Lucky Bums Utility Sled Tow Harness:
I had the same problem as trailjunkie experienced...catastrophic failure of a metal clasp on the harness while pulling a modest load up a very gradual "climb" of perhaps 3-degrees on a well-groomed trail. Used climbing carabiners to then attach the poles directly to my technical pack instead of the flawed harness system. Problem solved. The harness does not appear to be made of metal hardware that will hold up to towing more than extremely light loads. Rig up something with climbing carabiners instead so you can safely pull a load without the cheap clasps breaking on you. The actual concept of the design appears good, but the materials used to make it are just not up to the task. Hopefully this issue is addressed and corrected for an updated version. Despite the cheap metal of the clasp, I still recommend this product because the poles work so well and the shortcoming of the harness can easily be overcome by substituting good carabiners in place of the cheap harness clasps.

Comments about Lucky Bums Utility Sled Tow Harness:
I was so happy to find this affordable cargo sled set up. In the past I've used sled set ups that ran me over, tipped over and were very difficult to pull. I just skiied into a Colorado Yurt with this and it performed beautifully up and down the steep hills and through the powder. I had it loaded high and heavy, yet I hardly felt it behind me.
You do need some type of a belt to attach the harness to. I would advise using a belt that fits around your hips, as opposed to your waist because that's much more comfortable when pulling the sled.
I couldn't figure out how to attach the harness to my belt, so I contacted LuckyBums. Excellent customer service. They really went above and beyond to help me out. The harness was actually quite easy to attach once I saw how it was supposed to go and it stayed on good. It's very well constructed.
The one thing I didn't like is the fact that you need tools to attach the poles to the sled. Not just a regular phillips screw driver, but a special one and an adjustable wrench.
The poles adjust out long enough to be able to ski with the sled, then you can make them shorter to fit into your vehicle, which was nice.

Comments about Lucky Bums Utility Sled Tow Harness:
I bought this system for when the little ones get tired snowshoeing and also for winter backpacking trips. The system worked flawlessly until just before returning to the trail head on a downhill section of trail with my 50 pound 5 year old in tow and the cheap hardware broke from the harness. I suggest using a pair of bold cutters to remove the cheap metal clips and replacing them with a pair of climbing carabiners. Also the system tracked much better with poles crossing each other rather than running straight out. I love the fact that the system is inexpensive, and the poles are lightweight and adjustable.
