Shoulder surgery requires that I not ride on the street so I purchased the trainer without knowing a thing about it. I researched after the purchase and liked what I purchased. From a mechanical point of view I like that the traction roller has bearings on both ends (other units I looked at had only one bearing = more stress on the bearing)

Assembling it took a little tinkering as one side of the quick relase axle coupling needed to be changed out and there were no written directions for doing it. (they might be on the DVD but honestly I've not looked at it yet).

In addition to the to the trainer I purchased a "climbing block" for the front tire and this keeps the unit relatively level, less strain on my recovering shoulder.

In use the trainer is user friendly and the remote control cable for adjusting the magnetic resistance is a pleasure to have as well as to use. However, the clamp unit has a large opening and would not fit my handlebars so I mounted it on the handlebar mount, works great. The way I've set it up the rear tire is about 3 inches off the floor making the bike almost level with the front tire in the climbing block. Getting onto the saddle is a step up but no real problem.

Never having had a trainer I did not know what to expect and I've found this unit to be fun to use and it is helping me to stay fit while I heal.

My first trainer and enjoying it so far. Only put ~50 miles on it so far but haven't run into any issues yet. Would recommend a trainer tire to use with this though. The combo of this trainer and a trainer tire really reduces noise and vibration. Hope to put many miles on it in the future.
