    Comments about UCO Strike-On-Box Matches:

    On a trip with our Scout Troop, the boys wore out the strikers on both sides of the box pretty quickly. Because these are "strike on the box ONLY" they became difficult to light.

    I have to lay partial blame on the boys as I don't think they strike the matches quickly and firmly enough. And that may explain the premature wear of the strikers. But after only a dozen matches, the striker was difficult for even me to get a match to light.

    I have to admit the strike anywhere matches may be a better purchase for the backcountry.
