The REI Heavyweight Polartec® Power Dry® Zip-T shirt is the perfect base layer for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing mountaineering or Nordic skiing.
- Polartec Power Dry uses 2 different yarns on either side of the fabric to enhance comfort: interior yarn wicks moisture and exterior yarn dries quickly
- Combination of the 2 yarns helps keep you dry during highly aerobic activities because it moves moisture away from skin and dries more quickly than single-yarn fabrics
- Women-specific fabric is slightly heavier relative to men's fabrics for extra insulation
- Fabric offers UPF rating of 50+ to protect against harmful UV light
- Center front zipper allows ventilation control
- Flatseam construction is soft and non-chafing next to skin; seams are designed to work with pack straps at shoulders
- Underarm and side gussets promote freedom of motion
- Next-to-skin fit hugs the body, maintaining skin contact to boost fabric performance
- Extended length keeps garment tucked in, and smooth texture of outer surface makes it easy to slide on outer layers

This was intended to be a nice layer for my move to Minneapolis. It has quickly become my absolute favorite - it looks so nice with jeans for casual-wear and is a wonderful layer for outdoor sports. I was completely gutted to find they are completely sold out this season.

This kept me wonderfully warm while hiking on days where the highs were in the upper 30F. I usually wear a medium shirt and a medium in this fits close to the skin, but I am still able to get a t shirt underneath and a heavier layer over it.
Be careful when washing, the color ran during the first washing.
