Comments about Sierra Designs Hurricane Rain Jacket - Women's - 2011 Closeout:
This is a great backpacking rain jacket. I am planning to use this to replace my old light backpacking jacket that was not waterproof after getting soaked on my last trip. I haven't put it to the test yet but it is light enough to pack and EXTREMELY warm (be prepared to sweat). I think it will work extremely well when it is cold as a shell as well as in the rain. I didn't realize that the accelerator model had a lining before I bought this jacket but I'm happy with my purchase because this jacket is definitely warm enough without a lining! Its cute and functional - can't get much better than that! I usually wear a small jacket and ordered a small and it fits just fine - the shoulders and arms are a little puffy but there's enough room to wear a layer or two underneath (if its cold enough...) so I can't complain.

Comments about Sierra Designs Hurricane Rain Jacket - Women's - 2011 Closeout:
The color was better than shown on-line (Poseidon). I ordered the extra large size so I could make sure that I would have room for a light polar fleece layer on 14'er hikes, but OMG... This is snug with a t-shirt on. I'm not obese or anorexic, so being a little above average weight, I certainly expected an extra large size to fit.
I would never pay full price for this jacket. The inner layer seems flimsy and I don't expect it to last very long. The outer layer seems good and the details on the jacket seem better than some others I looked at.
I got my son a North Face rain jacket last spring on sale for $60 and the quality and feel of that is soooo much better. The bottom line, you get what you pay for.

Comments about Sierra Designs Hurricane Rain Jacket - Women's - 2011 Closeout:
This is my second Hurricane Jacket, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one for a friend. The front flaps that fit over the zipper are excellent for coverage in weather. The hood fits snuggly, the shape of the jacket is not too form fitting for people like me with a little extra weight. It does fit well to keep warm, dry and windproof. I didn't have any concerns with the jacket. The chin guard is a nice feature that helps to keep warm in windy weather. The pit zips do allow for plenty of air flow. I liked the way the length of the jacket covered behind, and overall it is a flattering, functional jacket. I love this jacket and would recommend it to a friend.
