I wanted to rate 3.5 and not 4 to start with. However for the price they are better then a lot of non-waterproof headphones. I use for kayaking little to mild whitewater when I'm comfortable with little to no communication on the rapids or surfing play-spots. They stay in your ears every well and come with different fitting ear buds to fit I'd guess anyone's ear canal. The only low point I've found after maybe 20 hours of use is the lows in the music or the bass is lacking. My only pair of such headphones so not sure its a wide spread issue overall for waterproof headphones. The mids and highs are good for the price. For jogging and such I'd not get these and only if I was doing a watersports that was within the depth limitations on the specs.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
