    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromDecent headlamp with major design flaw I've used this headlamp for scores of backpacking, climbing, and biking adventures and was quite pleased with it... until the battery door hinge snapped off. The hinge joint is tiny, delicate, and clearly wasn't designed with longevity in mind. Major disappointment to see such an obvious engineering flaw. Mine's held together (barely) by duct tape now. Bottom line: I can't recommend this headlamp to anyone until Princeton Tec redesigns the hinge.

by fromNice light but a defective battery cover This review is pretty much a copy of the previous ones but I thought I'd post it anyway. The battery cover/door cracked. Great little light that was perfect for my night runs but it only lasted a couple months. Hopefully PTec will get the problem solved.

by fromIf it weren't for the weak clasp... Purchased this light for backpacking. After using it all of 3 times (each was a 2 night trip), the plastic clasp that closes the batteries in place broke. I was pretty careful with it from the is just a flawed design. If you buy this item, the clasp WILL break, so be forewarned.

by fromGood lamp but poor battery door I've owned several of these and can confirm the reviews of others that there is a big problem with the design of the battery door. Two have broken - even with careful handling. Right now I'm using electric tape to keep the door shut and the lamp usable. I went back and forth between a one and a two but finally gave it the two stars because the lamp itself is bright and batteries go a long way, but I would not buy one of these again.

by fromDesign Flaw We mainly use headlamps for walking the dogs at night. We also take headlamps on vacation for night use. This is a great little headlamp. It's bright, adjustable, lightweight, stays in place, & has different light settings. The BIG problem, which was also mentioned by another reviewer, is the susceptibility of the battery compartment cover to break. It definitely seems to be a design flaw with this particular headlamp. If they can fix that, it'll be a super product.

by fromOl' faithful I have seen the light! Reliable, affordable, and outstanding battery life. I was worried about the switch turning on while packed as it is so simple- but have never had a problem. Picked this up over a year ago and would gladly buy it again.

by fromGreat Form and Function I have owned one of these previously that worked great, but unfortunately fell victim to my daughter's min-pin (small dog) who destroyed it. Overall the simplicity of use is excellent. Construction is nicely executed and the headband is comfortable. The tilt adjustment works well and stays where you put it. Battery life seems at least as good as my other head lamp, a Tikka XP. Brightness is good enough for hiking at night in clear conditions, but I would not depend on it for heavy fog or where greater power is required. The headband is strong and durable as well. The width is sufficient to feel comfortable on the head without any slipping. Summary: great function, all the necessities you need in a headlamp.

by fromGood Lamp Had this lamp for about a year now and I am very happy with the purchase. I haven't come across the battery case problems other reviewers have had. I bring it along for all my longer dayhikes, night hikes, and camping (at least a couple times a month for a year now). I always remove the batteries between trips, so the clasp is opened/closed twice a trip and there are no signs of wear after a year. Not as bright as more expensive products, but it has been a quality lamp for the price.
